Cinema of Transgression pioneers and participants (Lydia Lunch, Lung Leg, Nick Zedd, etc.) perform a series of acts as they submit to director Richard Kern's camera. Originally created for DTNY acid parties; Submit to Me was eventually edited down to 10 minutes and given an accompanying score.
Ayu, a young woman still grieving the death of her younger sibling, lives in silence and isolation. One night, she begins to sense something unusual—seeing the shadow of a small child and experiencing strange, unsettling events that remind her of her sibling. When she hears her sibling’s voice coming from a laptop and encounters a terrifying figure in the storage room, Ayu becomes convinced that something is haunting her. However, when Olivia arrives, it slowly becomes clear that what Ayu is experiencing might only be hallucinations caused by unresolved trauma and overwhelming guilt. This film explores the psychological side of deep grief, portraying how the pain of loss can blur the line between reality and imagination.
