On a humid summer night in the middle of monsoon season, a drug-addicted woman sits alone in a dark room and injects herself with a syringe. A sudden crash of thunder startles her, and the syringe slips from her hand. As she reaches down to retrieve it, she happens to glance toward the apartment building across the way. There, a figure stands watching.

Lautaro, a young captured native, realizes that these aliens are human beings without any divine power. He learns to use their weapons and organizes a resistance movement against the intruders.

I was influenced by one of Zhuangzi’s thought, The butterfly dream, and visualized the contrast between dream and reality. While I was creating this piece, I was never aware of whom the man sleeping in the movie was, but somehow, he ended up looking just like my grandfather.
