Not Just Any Flower

The narrative unfolds as a timid young man, Cal, arrives for a date at the penthouse of June whose house resembles a whimsical modern art installation almost like Pee-Wee's Playhouse. He offers her roses, only to have them immediately rejected. What follows is a series of absurd, slapstick-inspired events—breaking a decorative bust, accidentally putting a fish in the June’s drink—that culminate in Cal posing shirtless on her indoor “beach” set, sparking June's creative epiphany and leading her to photograph him for a Vogue ad campaign. This short film was created in 1987 under the mentorship of Martin Scorsese while Gruber was a student at Columbia Film School, and has since earned a place in exhibitions at New York’s MoMA, cementing its status as a noteworthy artistic work.

After being ejected from an establishment for being drunk and disorderly, George Rowe, Sammy Brooks, Hughie Mack and Snub Pollard form a drunken singing quartet in the street before a car comes and takes Sammy and George away, leaving the other two staggering in the road. Snub and Hughie agree to go somewhere "where there are no wives, landlords or prohibitionists", and so three months later they emerge on a prairie with supplies dwindling.

Breezing Along

This is a better than average Hamilton film thanks to the presence of a bratty kid who makes Lloyd's life miserable. It seems that Lloyd was hired as a combination chauffeur, butler, cook, etc. and isn't particularly adept at any of these tasks. however, to make things worse, there is a bratty kid in the home who does his best to ruin everything.

What's the World Coming To?
