Set in China's remote Tibet, Xinjiang, and Yunnan provinces, this three-part series reveals the colorful, diverse cultures and untold stories of China's border provinces.
This is the story, in eight episodes, of the conquest of Mount Everest in the Himalayas and its impact on the world. We meet the climbers who reached the summit and those who perished attempting the ascent. We encounter the Sherpa people, an ethnic group originating from Tibet, explore high-altitude mountaineering techniques, and hear the stories of expedition leaders and team members throughout their journey, while cameras capture every danger on the icy peaks. Viewers will remember that Everest is a world of illusions, a world that can become hostile in an instant, swept by fierce winds and deadly ice slides. A more recent, political, ecological, and economic perspective focuses primarily on present-day Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan and their economies, including the Tibetan carpet industry and the Chinese occupation.
China's Wild Side is a two part series that focuses on China's unseen wildlife in two unique areas: Tibet and Yunnan. The first episode begins on Tibet's high plateau where animals have evolved to roam at 4000 meters, where the air is as thin as at any mountain top.
It's closely surrounded by the grand peaks Himalayas. It hides from the ever changing outside world. Tibet is the Eden of Buddhism, full of mystery. Time embeded here signature of past civilization and religion, in this mystic ancient land. However, modern industry never sets foot here. Tibetans, with their over a-thousand-year history, struggled about the choice. There's so much unique culture legacy here in Tibet, which is without a doubt, best of the world. And there're so many great mountains in here. Its breathtaking landscape and unpolluted environment are both phenomenal around the globe. In this picture, we take you to this paradise, to live the local lives. And let's find what's changed in Tibet after its being constantly striked by the outside force.
