The first season of Sweden's Idol premiered in August 2004 and continued until its grand finale on 26 November. It is a spin off of Britain's Pop Idol.

Pop Idol is a British television music competition which ran on ITV from 2001 to 2003. On March 13, 2009, it was confirmed that the series had been canceled by NBC and would not be returning for a seventh season.
