Sneak Previews was an American film review show, running for over two decades on Public Broadcasting Service. It was created by WTTW, a PBS affiliate in Chicago, Illinois. It premiered on September 4, 1975 as a monthly local-only show called Opening Soon at a Theater Near You, and was renamed in 1977 when it became a biweekly show airing nationally on PBS. By 1979, it was a weekly series airing on over 180 stations, and was the highest rated weekly entertainment series in the history of public broadcasting. It was finally cancelled in 1996.
Moviewatch was a film review television programme broadcast on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. It ran from 1993 to 1997. The programme was hosted by Johnny Vaughan. It was broadcast weekly. Each week four members of the public would watch four forthcoming films. They would then discuss each film in turn, along with Johnny. The guest reviewers would mark each film out of ten. The film with the highest rating at the end of the show was declared the Moviewatch Film of the Week. During the show's run, only one film achieved a perfect 10/10 from all four reviewers - Spike Lee's Malcolm X.

The programme's expert film critic is usually Mark Kermode, though others do stand in. The Brittas Empire is a British sitcom created and originally written by Andrew Norriss and Richard Fegen. Chris Barrie plays Gordon Brittas, the well-meaning but incompetent manager of Whitbury New Town Leisure Centre. The show ran for seven series and 53 episodes — including two Christmas specials — from 1991 to 1997 on BBC1. Norriss and Fegen wrote the first five series, after which they left the show. The Brittas Empire enjoyed a long and successful run throughout the 1990s, and gained itself large mainstream audiences. In 2004 the show came 47th on the BBC's Britain's Best Sitcom poll, and all series have been released on DVD. The creators Andrew Norriss and Richard Fegen often combine farce with either surreal or dramatic elements in episodes. For example in the first series, the leisure centre prepares for a royal visit, only for the doors to seal, the boiler room to flood and a visitor to become electrocuted. Unlike the traditional sitcom, deaths were quite common in The Brittas Empire.
