Roxette: Look Sharp Live 1989

Look Sharp Live is the second concert film by Swedish pop music duo Roxette, released on 2 October 1989 on VHS format by EMI and Picture Music International.. The footage consists of two edited concerts filmed on the Borgholm Castle ruin on the Swedish Baltic Sea island of Öland on 25–26 July 1989. The project had a considerable budget, with the production crew hiring two helicopters from the Swedish Air Force to film aerial shots. Footage from this film was used to create two music videos: "Listen to Your Heart" and "Dangerous". Included as an unlisted track on all editions of the film is a remix of "The Look", which mixes the song with footage from two preexisting music videos directed by Peter Heath: "The Look" and "Dressed for Success".

Standing Room Only: Diana Ross

If ever there’s a moment that brilliantly and perfectly illustrates the star-power possessed by Diana Ross, it is the opening of her 1978-1979 stage show, captured on tape for this Home Box Office television special. Beginning with the star’s face projected on a large screen, mouthing the words to her #1 hit “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” the scene cuts to Miss Ross (draped in furs and jewels, of course) sauntering down a white, almost surreal staircase. At the bottom of the stairs – during the joyous, climactic crescendo of the song – she suddenly bursts from the screen and onto the stage, greeted by the screams and cheers of an overwhelmed audience. Those lucky enough to be at these shows literally watched a superstar come to life before their eyes; incredibly, the impact is equally great when watched on a television screen decades later.

Alcoléa & cie Documentary

Upon a visit to UVM's Lane Series in the Spring of 2022, Jean-Francois Alcolea offered to conduct a workshop to UVM film students and others on his piece, "Right in the Eye". A group of students from FTS 141 Video Production, teamed up to document the day and Jean-Francios' magical performance. They all left with a smile.
