White Heron

An animated short film adaptation of "A White Heron" written by Sarah Orne Jewett in 1886. Follows a young girl named Sylvia and the peaceful white heron she encounters who lives high above the forest near her grandmother's home.

The Singer

Alain Moreau sings for one of the few remaining dance-bands in Clermont-Ferrand. Though something of an idol amongst his female audience he has a melancholic awareness of the slow disappearance of that audience and of his advancing years. He is completely knocked off balance when he meets strikingly attractive and much younger businesswoman Marion. She seems distant and apparently otherwise involved but soon shows quiet signs of reciprocating his interest.

Naranja

Naranja is a woman that endures daily street harassment and catcalling; the constant sexualization and objectification of her body is reflected on the spots that these violent acts leaves over it. Naranja will have to react before the spots consume her.

Complex 20110730 - Toyko Dome

Under the banner of the "Japanese mind" for the Great East Japan Earthquake disaster area reconstruction assistance, for the first time in 21 years in July last year, legendary duo COMPLEX played two one-off charity live shows at Tokyo Dome, before enthusiastic fans. The Blu-ray disc captures the show on 30th July, 2011, while the entire second night is featured on 2-Cds.

The Noise of Time

In the town of Xoco, the spirit of an old villager awakens in search of its lost home. Along its journey, the ghost discovers that the town still celebrates its most important festivities, but also learns that the construction of a new commercial complex called Mítikah will threaten the existence of both the traditions and the town itself.

The Adventurer

The daring convict no. 23, known as The Eel, escapes from prison and, after mocking his inept persecutors, saves the lives of three people in peril: a beautiful girl, her mother and an annoying suitor, only to get exhausted and almost drowned. He helps defend the farm against criminals, and all seems well, until he discovers the girl of his dreams already has someone in her life. Unwilling to be a problem in their lives, he takes to the road, though he is seen skipping and swinging his cane as if happy to be back on the road where he knows he belongs.

When a high school basketball captain is faced with suspension for breaking school property, a young girl with down syndrome takes him under her wing in order to win a dance competition and pay for the damages.

Gjama

“Gjama” is a rarely practiced mourning ritual that was performed by Albanian men throughout the centuries. By shouting specific phrases and acting out a strict choreography, it is a way of paying respect to the deceased but also overcoming grief and pain over the loss of a loved one. Through the documentation of the re-enactment of the ritual, Zgjim Elshani seeks to recover fragments of the practice in the communities where this form of collective grieving is still a way of overcoming loss. By doing so, the project intends to rethink collective grieving and what it means to publicly display emotions in a male-headed society.

A serial killer bored to death in Covid quarantine and desperate for a victim picks up an innocent hitchhiker, but what he thinks will be a quick and easy kill, turns into a long and challenging night.
