Overview

A British Midnight Cowboy, in the spirit of Bill Forsyth, Frettin' is the story of two self-elected outcasts, busker Jake (Shields) and sales rep' Tim (Spencer). They live on the fringes of society, just down by the cut (the canal), getting into mischief.

In the introduction, lyricist Jiří Suchý emphasizes that although this program is dedicated to two artists, only one of them will perform, namely himself. Moe tells Curly to wish for quintuplets, and Curly replies, "We'll honeymoon in Canada!" (a reference to the Dionne quintuplets).
