The Cure - CURÆTION-25: From There to Here | From Here to There

The concert was captured on the tenth and final night of the 25th Meltdown Festival (curated by Robert Smith) at London’s Royal Festival Hall in June 2018. The band performed a song from each of their 13 studio albums with new, unreleased songs at the core of the set, offering a glimpse into the bands’ future.

Adding to the experience, the band is back-dropped by giant screens displaying footage that complements the unique moods and emotive song writing that established The Cure as pioneers of alternative rock.

The performance is based on the famous opera by Georges Bizet and was realized by the production company Cosmotel in Switzerland. The actress playing the title role, Carmen, is Mirella Freni, and the production was carried out by the renowned production company Cosmotel.

Sybill

A bohemian operetta, full of turmoil and confusion. The complicated yet light-hearted plot is all about making everyone jealous of everyone else. The story begins in a hotel in Tsarist Russia. One by one, guests arrive: the Parisian singer Sybill, Poire, the artist's impresario, and Sarah, Poire's wife. The Grand Duchess, who has accepted an invitation from the city's governor to attend a party in his honour, is also expected. An unexpected guest is Petrov, a Moscow bodyguard who has escaped from his regiment to join Sybil in Paris. A few moments later, the Governor arrives, already aware of Petrov's escape and eager to arrest him. Sybill, who appears on cue, protests vehemently. Seeing her firm action, the Governor thinks she is the Grand Duchess. Sybill, to save the day, takes the role, even agreeing to go to the Governor's ball as Grand Duchess.
