"Nocturnes at the Golden Gate" - invites us to discover the world and work of Irina Ionesco, a unique figure of contemporary photography. Since the early 70's, she photographer has been working in her apartment near the Porte Dorée, in Paris, principally with the female body. Scraps from the past and elements of the present come together to evoke the coherence and multiple meanings of Irina's baroque universe : the solitude of her Romanian childhood ; her youthful debut in the music hall ; her relationships with her models and her way of building images. Little by little, her work is illuminated and takes on different vibrations, though we have never left the apartment : her workspace, temple and museum.
Andrzej Różycki's film is not only a portrait of Zofia Rydet, a female artist, and her working methods, but also a capture of maturity and great passion. Rydet lets the viewer into her world, allowing them to observe her and peek in without restrictions. People is a film shot behind closed doors in a workshop/house on the outskirts of Paris and features a dozen characters. It is based on an interweaving of scenes of moaning and sex. The house is the characters' common space, but the question of ownership is distended, they don't all inhabit it in the same way. As the sequences progress, we don't find the same characters but the same interdependent relationships. Through the alternation between lament and sexuality, physical and verbal communication are put on the same level. The film then deconstructs, through its repetitive structure, our relational myths.
The second part begins shortly after the death of Michal Dostál, the biggest bastard of them all. Michal's father and grandfather are convinced that teacher Majer was behind the murders of all three students and was avenging his sister's death. They begin to psychologically torment Majer and search for evidence. The new police investigator Karas, who takes over the case from the deceased police investigator Paleček, is also looking for evidence. Karas immediately suspects something is amiss in the deaths of the "bastards" and also begins to focus on Majer, who is now the school principal.
