The Twenty-One Lives of Billy The Kid

Shot in the abandoned buildings of Gary, Indiana and the cornfields of Western Illinois, The Twenty-One Lives of Billy the Kid presents a fractured historical narrative without any real protagonist, one in which the titular character goes mostly unseen - Billy the Kid as the always-off-screen assailant, as a ghost’s laugh, as a shadow on the road.

The Big Departure

This is the only feature directed by the famed French painter and sculptor Martial Raysse. In keeping with the revolutionary spirit of the time, the movie has no plot to speak of and appears to have been largely made up on the spot. We follow the cat man into a bizarre fantasy universe presented in negative exposure that reverses color values (black is white and vice versa) and written words. Adachi's follow-up to Bowl using the figure of a woman suffering from an unusual sexual aliment has often been taken as a controversial allegory for the political stalemate of the Leftist student movement after their impressive wave of massive fiery protests failed to defeat the neo-imperialist Japan-US Security Treaty. Bear

Bear (10 minutes, 35 seconds) was Steve McQueen's first major film. Although not an overtly political work, for many viewers it raises sensitive issues about race, homoeroticism and violence. It depicts two naked men – one of whom is the artist – tussling and teasing one another in an encounter which shifts between tenderness and aggression. The film is silent but a series of stares, glances and winks between the protagonists creates an optical language of flirtation and threat.

60 Seconds of Solitude in Year Zero

An anthology of one-minute films created by 51 international filmmakers on the theme of the death of cinema. Intended as an ode to 35mm, the film was screened one time only on a purpose-built 20x12 meter public cinema screen in the Port of Tallinn, Estonia, on 22 December 2011. A special projector was constructed for the event which allowed the actual filmstrip to be burnt at the same time as the film was shown.

Ode to Dorothy

Ode to Dorothy reexamines the relationships of the main characters in The Wizard of Oz, revealing these relationships to be much more complicated and dark then we first understood as children. Comprised of footage from The Wizard of Oz and Meet Me in St. Louis, two musicals starring Judy Garland, the tape takes existing, iconographic images and reinterprets the footage to create an alternative narrative to the original storyline intended by L. Frank Baum.

SILIKA

It follows the filmmaking journey of two filmmakers as they navigate through the urban sprawl of inner KL during the pandemic. It showcases the city in a raw, exposed and gritty fashion but still with a certain charm. Throughout their filmmaking process, they capture the peculiar events in the life of three strangers: the son (Fakhrul Aiman), the outsider (Eli Orkid) and the hustler (Nidusmas). They happen to express themselves in extreme ways at the sight of their own reflection in “the vantablack” -- they snap into a state of mind where they lose all their inhibitions and show their true self in a very physical way: through visceral, almost primal dance movements.

The DVD was released in South Korea and Japan.

Unfortunately, he goes to a fireworks stand instead of a flower stand and purchases some fireworks thinking them to be flowers. He even plants them in his garden, no less! Of course, they are eventually set off with a series of explosions, Waldo panicking the whole time. After the fiasco, Magoo decides to soothe Waldo's panic by letting him set off one firecracker after which Waldo is sent to a jail by a policeman who accuses him of starting the fireworks catastrophe.
