The Metropolitan Opera: La Traviata

Soprano Nadine Sierra stars as the self-sacrificing courtesan Violetta—one of opera’s ultimate heroines—in Michael Mayer’s vibrant production of Verdi’s beloved tragedy. Tenor Stephen Costello is her lover Alfredo, alongside baritone Luca Salsi as his disapproving father and Maestro Daniele Callegari on the podium.

Train From the Childhood Station

The events in the film revolve around the children's railway. Young railway workers have to confront the hooligan actions of a group of teenagers. One of them, Kamil, detained after another attack on an empty railway station, gets acquainted with her boss, Tahir Usmanovich, and young railway workers. Having met with their sympathy, a good attitude towards himself, Camil overestimated his actions and brought his friends to the children's railway.

Instead of ruling, the king devotes himself to fishing and long conversations with the gardener, the princess, instead of pretending, like any proper princess, spends whole days in the kitchen, and the care of the kingdom thus falls to the queen. The queen decides to start the correction by marrying the princess; however, the groom must be noble and, above all, rich. The princess's cooking costs something, and the small wars that sometimes take place because of the queen's quarrelsomeness are also not completely free. The only problem is that the princess does not want to get married, and the king does not want to give his daughter to just anyone, but wants to entrust her to someone who will be kind and will truly love her.

Pretty Aninka is terribly lazy, she just wants to sleep, her mother tries in vain to get her to do any work. Even Toník, her boyfriend, cannot convince her that she cannot just lie in her blankets all the time. There is a storm coming, everyone is trying to get hay under the roof, but Aninka is lying under a tree and would rather go to the Thunderclaps than toil here. And that morning the Thunderclaps took her to their heavenly chamber. There the poor girl has to serve them. One of them, Tlučhrom, even wants to marry her. But Toník, her sweetheart, and his mother search for her all over the world and with the help of good people they even get to the Thunderclaps' kingdom. The cooper hid them in the barrels that the Thunderclaps had come for so that they could roll them around the sky in joy. It won't take them much trouble to outwit the stupid hulks and get Aninka back among the people. And now that Aninka was in her wedding dress, she could go to the altar with Toník.

Kipparikvartetti

Composer and program director Harri forms a quartet, recruiting Apon, Teika, Kauko, and Olli as members. Based on an idea from Olli's beloved Raija, the ensemble is named the Kipparikvartetti.
