Cigala & Tango - Gran Rex

An unforgettable concert performance by Diego El Sigala at the Gran Rex Theater in Buenos Aires in April 2011. The concert ended with thunderous applause, 3000 of the audience, filling the legendary theater. A special performance in which El Cigala and his Spanish and Argentinean fellow musicians interpreted the classics of the Argentinean repertoire, such as Las cuarenta, Sus ojos se cerraron and Tomo y limo, and contemporary works such as Garganta con arena, by Cacho Castagni. Return is a methodical construction of the approach of an individual towards an unseen goal, which assumes metaphorical significance. Viola moves toward the camera/viewer, pausing every few steps to ring a bell, at which point he is momentarily thrust back to his starting place, and then advanced again. Finally reaching his destination, he is taken through all of the previous stages in a single instant and returned to the source of his journey.
