Overview

A story is told of a woman who, disinherited after a scandal, later needs expensive surgery. Her father, General Darrington, initially refuses her plea for money, so she sends her daughter, Beryl, to him. The General dies from a falling andiron, Beryl is arrested, and a will favors a lawyer named Lennox. Beryl's brother, Bertie, arrives and provides exculpatory testimony supported by Lennox, who appears with a lightning-imprinted photograph. The siblings eventually discover love between Beryl and Lennox.

Rosetta shoots herself, after which Lola appears to avenge her death by causing the ruin of Aubrey's sister. Aubrey fires on Lola, but Rosetta awakens in his car and realizes that it was all a dream. While the chauffeur repairs the car, she and Aubrey walk into town to find a preacher.

Her confidence thus restored, Dora can continue with her life.

Olive's dissolute brother-in-law, Thomas Donald, finds Peter on the brink of suicide and reveals that he is Harold's father. Thomas goes on to explain that Olive adopted the boy as a means to blackmail Peter. Harold and Anita marry, while Peter confesses to his wife and Olive leaves town.

Realizing her mistake, Elsie warns Divvy, who bests the half-breed and then rescues Margot from the falls. A lost film.
