Macabre Metrics

A young, wannabe streetwear influencer dying to make an impact on the world gets a lot more than he bargained for when a shy but obsessive fan decides to help him become a star for his own gain at the expense of everyone else involved. Macabre Metrics is an almost feature-length, visually experimental exploration into the world of image culture set in Seoul. Shot entirely on iPhone with animated sequences.

The Noise of Time

In the town of Xoco, the spirit of an old villager awakens in search of its lost home. Along its journey, the ghost discovers that the town still celebrates its most important festivities, but also learns that the construction of a new commercial complex called Mítikah will threaten the existence of both the traditions and the town itself.

Lake

Lake gazes down at a still body of water from a birds-eye view, while a group of artists peacefully float in and out of the frame or work to stay at the surface. As they glide farther away and draw closer together, they reach out in collective queer and desirous exchanges — holding hands, drifting over and under their neighbors, making space, taking care of each other with a casual, gentle intimacy while they come together as individual parts of a whole. The video reflects on notions of togetherness and feminist theorist Silvia Federici’s call to “reconnect what capitalism has divided: our relation with nature, with others, and our bodies.”

Basement Ghosts

BASEMENT GHOSTS provides a chilling assessment of the major contributors to the recent growth of neo-fascist movements, and how young extremists can be turned away from a life of hatred in this 8mm homage to wartime propaganda videos.

Demi-Goddesses

The second essay about still dominant dark aspects of our modern society. It is conceived as a surreal anti-patriarchal thought experiment and raises important questions about gender, power, and social change, prompting us to reflect on how historical patterns of discrimination and oppression might be either repeated or overcome in a reversed gendered world. It challenges the viewer to confront their own assumptions and biases, and to consider the possibilities of a more equitable society.

Overwork

The found-footage short film OVERWORK offers a personal reinterpretation of a collection of instructional 16mm films from the German Employment Agency.

Everybody Dies

Utilizing super 8mm and an economical shooting method of quick, short shots building idiosyncratic rhythms via rapid editing techniques, time, nature, and even the body folds in on itself. Everybody Dies (2020) is a poetic journey into the desert. It’s a reflection on the nature of death as something not to be feared, but embraced as a part of a personal and universal human experience. Super 8mm.

Tomatoes

Across the installation's multiple channels, the camera circles a group of artists as they sit together in a field eating, licking, and squeezing ripe tomatoes. Throughout the ever-changing scene, kisses, whispers, and caresses are shared with a casual, gentle intimacy that reflects interconnectivity and abundance. These queer and desirous exchanges constitute a portrait of collectivity wherein individuals come together as distinct parts of a whole.

Minuet

An essay in colour harmonics and visual overtones. Conceived and produced as part of the Images Film Festival's Minute Movies.

Polsish

As a woman attempts to outrun her intrusive thoughts, her evening begins to unravel alongside her mind.

Flotsam

An urban essay film searching for meaning and philosophy: "When you enter an existential crisis, all filters fall. Reality is shaded in low contrast, low key, foggy. Every outside signal grinds down mind and teeth and gets caught in a feedback loop. Every thought is a downward spiral."

Fotofinish 2

Documentary filmed on the occasion of the “2003, Odyssey in Space Zero” operation inside the Spazio Zero Theater in Rome. The document, filmed between 21 October and 30 November 2003, recounts the representation of Fotofinish not as a single and continuous work, but as the evolution over time of the moods and movements of the actors who, replica after replica, have developed an awareness of the space and arrived at the joy of staging.

Inevitabile

In an attempt to tell the story of the Tree of Ténéré from a non-human perspective, we entrusted the narrative to an artificial intelligence, treating it as a species in its own right, capable of seeing beyond our anthropocentric view. But perhaps what it produces can never truly be neutral, as the images it generates are inevitably filtered through the human gaze. Can we really tell the world without ourselves in it?

Rosewater

A solitary man struggles to cultivate beauty in a desolate urban world. Lonely and dislocated, he drifts in and out of a dream state envisioning the promise of regeneration. ROSEWATER tells a story of hope sustained through perseverance, ritual and, ultimately, revelation.

Amelia 2.0

After his wife Amelia suffers an aneurysm that leaves her bedridden and slowly dying, police officer Carter Summerland searches for a way to revive her. He's approached by Wesley Enterprises pioneering a new program to extend life through robotics, they get caught in a public debate over human’s relationship with technology and her right to exist.

Teenagers who survived a bus crash, end up abducted and taken into an abandoned hospital.
