Join Paris Opera Ballet Director of Dance Brigitte Lefévre for a special three part cinema presentation: -The Défilé (parade) of the Paris Opera Ballet is filmed for the first time. This 300-year tradition presents the entire company (154 Paris Opera Ballet dancers, and 100 or so pupils from the Ballet School) under full stage conditions and is an amazing spectacle. -For Etudes, a dance class is transposed to the stage in a ballet that showcases the purity, rigour and exactness of classical technique. -The Nutcracker is Tchaikovsky’s journey to a dreamlike world of whirling snowflakes, myriad flowers and dancing sugar plum fairies, and one of his most fabulous masterpieces.

In February 1972, the American president Richard Nixon went to China to meet Mao Zedong. In the context of the war in Vietnam and the cold war, this encounter marked a turning point in Chinese‑American relations. John Adams, a major musical figure of the last forty years, made this event of contemporary history the subject of his first opera. Nixon in China tackles the political thaw instigated by ping-pong diplomacy, begun by the invitation of the American table tennis players by their Chinese counterparts, one year before the presidential visit. A mesmerising work in which the pulsations and repetitions typical of minimalism are combined with melodic lines of great lyricism. For its entry into the Paris Opera repertoire, this work has been entrusted to the director Valentina Carrasco, who underlines the importance and the mediating power of Chinese national sport in history.
In January of 2025, Sondre Lerche and his 52-piece ensemble performed a truly extraordinary show at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet. The career-spanning concert was divided into two chronological acts and was performed to two sold-out audiences, in what became a dizzying musical and visual marathon both on stage and behind the scenes. For the many fans around the world who couldn’t get a seat at the Opera House in January—and for all who were there and wish to relive the magic—Sondre Lerche and ONZONZ now present Stop Time, a full-length concert film that captures the feeling of being there.

LES TROYENS ('The Trojans') is a tour de force of music that ranges from fiery military marches to intense choruses, passionate soliloquies – such as those of the prophetess Cassandre – and the lyrical love duets of Didon and Énée. It is Hector Berlioz's largest work and he wrote the libretto himself, drawing upon his intimate knowledge of Virgil's Aeneid. To the composer's disappointment, LES TROYENS was only performed once in full during his lifetime and was often presented in shortened form during the 20th century. The Royal Opera's production provides a rare chance to see this epic work in its entirety. David McVicar's staging is on an enormous scale, assembling one of the largest casts ever seen at Covent Garden.

Richard Eyre's production of 'La Traviata' immerses the audience in the indulgence of 19th Century Paris, a vivid setting for Verdi's famous score.
Francesco Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur concerns a doomed love based on a real story about an actress involved in a famous love triangle. Based on a narrative poem by Sir Walter Scott and set against the backdrop of feudal Scotland, "La Donna del Lago" is one of Gioacchini Rossini's finest operas -- yet it's rarely performed. This video gives viewers a rare opportunity to see the work in its entirety. Filmed at Italy's famed Teatro alla Scala in 1992 and staged by German film director Werner Herzog, the opera features vocalists Ricardo Muti and June Anderson in leading roles.
