the film „mandà in lunga“ follows a journey from Val Poschiavo, a valley in the Italian-speaking part of the Swiss canton of Grisons, up to the highest point of the Morteratsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Bernina Range. Shot entirely on 16mm film and edited in-camera, the film captures the changing landscapes and atmospheric shifts along the way. The journey is musically accompanied by the organ drones and violin sounds of Laura and Luzius Schuler.

Pelican Dreams

Sundance-and-Emmy-Award-winning filmmaker Judy Irving (with her first film since the widely acclaimed and loved “The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill”) follows a wayward California brown pelican from her “arrest” on the Golden Gate Bridge into care at a wildlife rehabilitation facility, and from there explores pelicans’ nesting grounds, Pacific coast migration, and survival challenges of these ancient birds, sometimes referred to as the flying dinosaurs. The film is about wildness, and asks the following questions: how close can we get to a wild animal without taming or harming it? Why do we need wildness in our lives, and how can we protect it? Return of the White Lion

Tales of the existence of white lions have been passed through four centuries of African folklore. But today no white lions exist in the Timabavti range where they originated. That is until a team of conservationists brings one special lioness and her three cubs out of captivity and into the natural habit of their origins. Two years into the project, Linda has achieved much of what she set out to do but the hunting policy hasn't changed and the genetic marker hasn't yet been identified - meaning the white lions are still not a protected sub-species. Whilst this challenge still remains, Marah's legacy lives on as her daughter produces the white cubs, and the brothers are ready to breed with the tawny lionesses. Linda continues to fight for the protection of these magical lions and looks forward to the day when it will be safe for her lions - and all white lions - to roam freely in the Greater Timbavati Ecosystem.
