A small suburban town receives a visit from a castaway unfinished science experiment named Edward.
Ronia lives happily in her father's castle until she comes across a new playmate, Birk, in the nearby dark forest. The two explore the wilderness, braving dangerous Witchbirds and Rump-Gnomes. But again, it's impossible to know whether these are the ramblings of an old alcoholic or the strange truth.
