This episode introduces the legend of the Saints of Athena, who have always fought without weapons since the mythological times. The legend tells that they could smash the ground with their kicks and destroy stars with their punches. And now, they're back to the modern times. The main character of Knights of Zodiac is Seiya, who is training in Sanctuary, located at Athens, Greece, to gain the Bronze Cloth of Pegasus. However, he'll have to defeat Cassios, his rival, to get it, and Shina, Silver Amazon of Serpent, to stay alive...

Seiya arrives in Japan and learns about the Galaxian Wars, but he's not interested. All he wants is to find his missing sister, Seika. Saori tells him that she's disappeared when he went to Greece and makes a deal with Seiya: He wins the tournament, she'll find his sister. On his first battle, Seiya will fight against Geki, Bronze Saint of Bear.

This episode introduces a new saint: Hyoga, who has trained in Siberia for five years and now is the Bronze Saint of Cygnus (Swan in the American version), warrior of ice. He returns to Japan to fight in Galaxian Wars and his first opponent is Ichi, Bronze Saint of Hydra, whose fangs are deadly poisonous.

The most furious battle of the tournament begins: Seiya versus Shiryu, Bronze Saint of Dragon. Seiya has hard times against Shiryu, whose Rising Dragon attack is so powerful that it can invert the course of Rozan Waterfall, and whose cloth's fist and shield are the most solid and strong ones in the world. Seiya takes desperate measures to win, and Shiryu tries desperately to finish this battle quickly, since his master is on the verge of death.

Seiya and Shiryu are now without their clothes, which means that the smallest mistake will lead one of them to death. Shiryu is still fast enough to avoid Seiya's meteors, but Seiya has got an ace up his sleeve: he has found out that Shiryu's attack, the Rising Dragon, has a small weakpoint that might lead Shiryu to his defeat, and possibly to his death...

Andromeda battles against Unicorn Andromeda uses his chains to form a nebula chain (Andromeda Galaxy). Unicorn runs directly to Andromeda but his chains attacks Unicorn, thus impoosible for Unicorn to attack. He tried to attack Andromeda from the air but the chains still attack him in the air. Suddenly, the chains set a reaction and form a code for Andromeda. He wonders what is could be until at the end, his brother appears.

Phoenix Ikki attacks his brother, Andromeda, without mercy. He's full of hate against all Saints and Saori Kido, whose grandfather had sent him to Death Queen Island. Jabu tries to stop Ikki but he's defeated with one single punch. Then, the official battle begins, between Ikki and Nachi, Bronze Saint of Wolf, who has his mind completely destroyed by Phoenix's attack. Then, Ikki bids farewell to all and, along with his henchmen, the Black Saints, steals the Gold Cloth.

Seiya, Hyoga, Shiryu and Shun chases Ikki and his Black Saints through the city as they run away with the Gold Cloth. Kido's Foundation sends an helicopter after the enemies, but Ikki destroys it with a single strike. They hide in the harbor and Ikki finally wears the Gold Cloth, but Seiya finds and hits him, making the Gold Cloth fly away from Ikki's body and split up. The black saints get the cloth's parts and runs again. One by one, they're defeated by the Bronze Saints, but they only manage to recover both arms and both legs of the cloth. One of the defeated Black Saints reveals that they follow Ikki because four stronger Black Saints support Ikki, and that Ikki's real intent is to take over the world. The next morning, Shiryu returns to the Five Peaks of Rozan, taking the destroyed cloths of Pegasus and Dragon with him, in order to repair them. But a black shadow watches them carefully...

Seiya is searching for Ikki with the aid of a police dog. Shun is in the forest remembering of the past and wondering what had made his brother change, when a new enemy arrives: one of the black saints, Black Swan. He attacks Shun, but Hyoga arrives and challenges him to a freezing duel: Swan vs. Black Swan. The other three black saints (Black Pegasus, Black Dragon and Black Andromeda) eventually show up too.

Shiryu goes to Jamil's Mountains in order to find Mu, the only one who can repair the clothes of Pegasus and Dragon. However, getting there will not be easy as he thinks. The Cloth Graveyard lies on his way, where many undead saints are waiting for him. When he finally arrives at Mu's Tower, Mu gives him some bad news about the clothes.

The battle of the Bronze Saints against Ikki and his Black Saints begins. Seiya, already wearing his Pegasus cloth (brought by Kiki), faces the Black Pegasus, whose meteors hide a terrible curse and might lead Seiya to an horrible death. Hyoga has no difficulties in defeating Black Swan, who alerts Ikki about Hyoga's attacks before dying. Finally, Hyoga finds the Phoenix Saint and challenges him to a duel. The battle is starting to heat up!

Seiya is suffering from Black Death's curse and is on the verge of death, while Hyoga tries (in vain) to defeat Ikki. Shun finds Seiya and tries to help him, but Black Andromeda and Black Dragon show up and Seiya makes a last sacrifice so Shun won't get killed. Shun manages to kill his black shadow and Shiryu appears and challenges Black Dragon. The combat between the Dragons is about to begin!

In this episode, Shiryu challenges the Black Dragon, while Shun tries to save Seiya, who is slowly dying because of Black Pegasus' Black Death Horror. Shiryu, still weak because of his blood loss, almost sacrifices his life for friendship (which Black Dragon can't understand why, since he doesn't believe in such thing as friendship).

The four Saints prepare to face Ikki (Hyoga wasn't dead after all), but they are no match for the mighty cosmo of Ikki. He knocks them out with one single strike, except for Seiya, who was protected by the Gold Cloth. Aided by the cosmo of his friends, Seiya finally manages to defeat Ikki after a deadly battle.

Ikki reveals what happened to him in the Death Queen Island. Since the beginning of his training, his master (Guilty) has taught him to hate everyone, as a way to gain strength and kill his enemies. The only person in the whole island who cared about Ikki was Esmeralda, Guilty's daughter. She used to take care of Ikki's wounds and both of them were real friends. Ikki's last day on Death Queen Island has come. Unless he killed his master, he wouldn't get the Phoenix Bronze Cloth. In the middle of the battle, Guilty killed his own daughter, Esmeralda. That transformed Ikki in a demon of rage, and he murdered his master with all his power, becoming the demoniac Bronze Saint of Phoenix. Back to the present, Ikki tells Seiya and the others the battle wasn't over because he was defeated. Suddenly, the black saints show up and steal the Gold Cloth. A new enemy has come: Docrates, the most powerful man in the Sanctuary. He shows his tremendous power (Hercules' Tornado Punch) and asks Ikki f

At many places round the world, tragedies are happening because of the Sanctuary's agents. In Greece, the Sanctuary's Pope is furious because Docrates hasn't returned yet with the Gold Cloth. Marin is about to be killed by Shina, but Aiolia stops her, saving Marin. According to Marin, the former Pope of the Sanctuary has suddenly died and his younger brother, Ares, is the new Pope, bringing a dark time for the Sanctuary. Back to Japan, Saori is in the planetarium dome when her grandfather, Mitsumasa Kido, appears to her. He tells her that the Gold Cloth always shows up when a new crisis is about to happen in the world and that she must be like Athena and guide the Bronze Saints to the victory. Meanwhile, Docrates's henchmen search for their boss under the rocks, when he shows up and they march for the Kido Mansion. Next morning, Docrates attacks the mansion. Shiryu, Hyoga and Shun defeats his henchmen but can do nothing against the mighty power of Docrates's Hercules Tornado Punc

Docrates is in the Colosseum and will free Saori and Tatsumi if Seiya gives him the Gold Cloth's helm. Seiya and Shun goes to the Colosseum while Shiryu and Kiki (who saw telephatically where the other missing pieces of the Gold Cloth were hidden) goes to the island where Ikki's challenge took place. Docrates' henchmen deceived the Bronze Saints and stole the helm without setting Saori free. His henchmen leave the Colosseum but Hyoga was waiting for them and he recovers the Helm. Seiya learns that Docrates is the older brother of Cassios, who was defeated by Seiya in Greece, and seeks revenge. Seiya and Shun are no match to Docrates's ""Hercules Tornado Punch"", but Hyoga arrives and, with a dangerous technique that he learned from his master, the Crystal Saint, freezes Docrates' legs, paralyzing the giant enemy. Then, Seiya and Shun attack and finally kill Docrates. Meanwhile, Shiryu and Kiki arrive at the place, but the Sanctuary's soldiers had already flown away with the other Gold Cl

The Pope is furious with Docrates' failure, and Shina advises Gigars to send the amazon Jeist (Shina's disciple, who was banned from the Sanctuary by the former Pope) to recover the Gold helmet. In an castle on an island at the Carribean Sea, Jeist receives a letter from the Sanctuary and summons her disciples, the Ghost Saints: Serpent, Dolphin and Medusa. They take over a big nuclear energy-powered oil ship that belongs to Kido Foundation and threaten to destroy it unless the Bronze Saints give the helm to them. Seiya and the others go to the ship and Seiya is forced to fight alone against the Serpent and the Dolphin. Otherwise, Medusa will destroy the ship. However, Shun immobilizes Medusa with his chains and the Bronze Saints go to help Seiya but, all of a sudden, the ocean is filled by ghost pirate ships, and thousands of ghost pirates invade the oil ship and distract the saints. Shun has been hurt in the battle and is resting in his room. Saori and Tatsumi arrive at the oil tanker. Saori does an ancient Greek tradition with her jewels (I'll tell more about it on the 'cultural references' section), bringing courage back to the Bronze Saint's hearts. Afterwards, they watch a VCR tape recorded by the Foundation's satellite. It shows where Jeist's ship has gone to: The Island of Spirits, at the Caribbean Sea. The saints fly to the island, but their plane is attacked by Jeist's illusory attack and crases on the ocean. The Serpent Saint tries to kill Andromeda by drowning, but Hyoga freezes the sea's surface and Seiya finishes him off. They swim to the island and need to climb a hill in order to move on. Shun uses his chains, but they're attacked by poisonous insects on their way up. When they finally reach the top, Dolphin shows up, but then he's easily defeated by Shiryu's Rising Dragon. Hyoga is too weak and can't go on. In the forest, they're attacked again by v

Seiya and the others have the Gold Helmet, and the Sanctuary has the other parts of the Gold Cloth. In order to gather more information about the Gold Cloth's whereabouts, Seiya goes to Greece to visit Marin, while Shiryu goes to the Five Peaks and Hyoga goes to Siberia. Shun stays to protect Saori. Meanwhile, the Crystal Saint - master of Hyoga - goes to the Sanctuary to complain about what's happening there, but the Pope seizes the opportunity and hypnotises the Crystal Saint. Seiya arrives at the Sanctuary and is attacked by Shina and some soldiers. The Pegasus Saint is about to be killed when Marin arrives and stops Shina. Then, Marin tells Seiya what happened to the Crystal Saint and that Hyoga is in danger. Meanwhile, Hyoga arrives at Siberia and finds the village where he grew up completely empty, but he eventually finds his little friend, Yakoff, collapsed on the snow. Yakoff tells Hyoga that the Crystal Saint has changed a lot, and now is a cruel man. Hyoga goes to the Crystal

In China, Roshi tells Shiryu that the previous Pope suddenly died, and Ares, his younger brother, has taken his place as the new Pope. In Siberia, the Crystal Saint continuosly attacks Hyoga, who runs away. Back to the village, Yakoff tells Hyoga that the villagers were enslavered and are being forced to build an ice piramid to symbolize the Sanctuary's power. Hyoga goes there to free the villagers, and manages to do it. However, the Crystal Saint appears, and Hyoga has to confront him. Hyoga doesn't want to fight his master, so he is an easy prey to the mind-controlled saint, who freezes Cygnus' legs and hits him mercilessly. A soldier is about to shoot Hyoga on his head, but Seiya shows up and intercepts the bullets. The Crystal Saint tries to freeze the two bronze saints, but Hyoga hits him with his Diamond Dust. The Crystal Saint prepares himself to shoot an outstanding attack at Seiya and Hyoga, but he hits the Ice Piramid instead, destroying it, and collapses on the ground.

Shun, Saori and Tatsumi hide themselves at a small house in the middle of the forest, in order to protect the Gold Cloth's helm. Meanwhile, the Fire Saint arrives at Japan and burns the Kido's mansion with his flame attack. Tatsumi and Saori wants to return, but Shun stops them, reminding Saori how important it is to protect the Gold Helm. Tatsumi disagrees and flies to Kido Mansion, being captured by the Fire Saint and some soldiers from the Sanctuary. Under torture, he tells them where the Gold Helm is. Shun has troubles in trying to put out the firespots caused by Fire Saint's flame attacks, and this is decisive for the battle, since he can't put out the fire and defend himself at the same time. Eventually, Shun falls in the middle of the flames, but suddenly a hurricane begins, blowing the flames away, and a man appears from the nothing, carrying Shun on his arms: Phoenix Ikki! Ikki is back from the hell, and he is no longer a servant of the Sanctuary. He kills the Fire Saint quick

Marin is ordered (and forced) to go to Japan and kill Seiya, but she doesn't go alone. On Japan, Seiya is at the beach when Marin shows up... along with Lizard Misty. Misty is a Silver Saint, a much more powerful enemy than Docrates or Ikki. Seiya tries to attack Misty, but Marin stops him and gives him a fatal blow. When Marin leaves, Misty digs up Seiya's body and realises the truth: Marin did not kill Seiya for real, she used a fake attack in order to save her pupil. Then, the battle between Seiya and Misty begins...

Misty hits Seiya with his technique, Marvel Tripper, making Seiya vomit blood and fall in the ocean. A drop of Seiya's blood hits Misty on the neck and he, feeling horribly dirty, takes his cloth off and cleans himself on the ocean's water. However, Pegasus was still alive. Seiya manages to block and deflect Misty's attack and, grabbing him by the back, throws Misty (and himself) into the sea, since Misty's Marvel Tripper, a wind-based attack, is useless underwater. Finally Misty is defeated. Two more Silver Saints arrive at Japan, Kaisto Moses and Hound Asterion. On discovering Marin's treason, they capture her as a way to attract Seiya to their claws. Seiya arrives and is attacked by Moses. On the verge of death, Seiya learns from Moses that Marin is his sister. Then, Seiya recover his strenghts and kills Moses, but he still has to fight Asterion.

Seiya is tired because of his two battles and is no match for Asterion, who is faster and can read Seiya's thoughts. Seiya is easily defeated by Asterion's ""One Million Ghosts' Attack"" and is about to be killed when Marin comes to rescue. Kiki has freed her from the chains. Asterion tries to read Marin's thoughts, but Marin keeps her mind clear, nullflying the Silver Saint's advantage. As a last shot, Asterion tries to kill her with his special attack, but it's Marin who hits him and kills him. Hyoga arrives at the beach and finds Seiya unconscious. Marin is gone, but they find a message from her written on the sand: ""Seiya guard Athena"". Back to the Colosseum, the five Bronze Saints are surprised when Tatsumi reveals that Saori is actually the reincarnation of Athena, and that the Bronze Saints' duty is to protect her. All of a sudden, another Silver Saint appears: Centaur Babel, who uses flame attacks. Hyoga challenges him and, in the middle of the battle, three misterious Saints

In the Sanctuary, Shina learns that the Bronze Saints are flying towards the Sanctuary, and sets up an ambush on a island near the Sanctuary with two Silver Saints: the telekinesis master Spartan and Perseus Argol, whose power turns anyone into stone. The Bronze Saints' airplane is attacked by Spartan's power and it's forced to land on the island, where Shina, Spartan and Argol are waiting for them.

The battle begins. Shiryu is unable to hit Spartan, since he can attack and defend himself with his telekinetic powers. Seiya challenges Shina and eventually defeats her, and she tells him that Marin hasn't gone back to the Sanctuary. Shun tries to hit Argol's back with his Chain, but the Nebula Chain is paralyzed in the middle of the air, and loses his attack power. For the surprise of all, Argol reveals what's hidden on his back: The Medusa Shield, which turns Shun into a stone statue. Argol puts the shield on his arm and direct its gaze towards Shiryu and Seiya, but only Seiya becomes is petrified, since Shiryu used his shield to avoid Medusa's power. Spartan tries to make Shiryu to look at the shield, but a quick move from Dragon makes Spartan look at the shield, and now he is petrified. The battle is balanced again, and Shiryu has troubles to avoid Argol's attacks and the Medusa's gaze. Meanwhile, Hyoga and Ikki are flying to the battlefield, in order to help their friends. Will t

Shiryu is having troubles to attack Argol, since he needs to pay attention to the Medusa Shield. As an attempt to avoid the Shield's gaze, Shiryu uses a piece of cloth to cover his eyes, but it's useless against the Medusa Shield, and Shiryu' left arm (and his shield) is petrified. Being unable to use his shield anymore, Shiryu is about to be totally petrified when the Silver Saints show up and save the Dragon Saint from certain death. However, they are no match for Argol, and are defeated. As a last resort, Shiryu blinds himself in order to avoid Medusa's gaze. Now Shiryu can see Argol through Athena's aid, and with one last strike, he destroys the Medusa Shield and kills Argol. Seiya, Shun and Spartan come back to life, and Spartan runs away, taking Shina with him. Back to Japan, the Bronze Saints learns that the Silver Saints are a secret project from Mitsumasa Kido, and that their mission is to aid the Bronze Saints on their fight against the Sanctuary. Shiryu goes back to China with Shunrei to rest and try to find a cure to his eyes. Meanwhile, the Pope sends another Silver Saint to Japan, and Shina is pissed because she won't be allowed to go to Japan and kill Seiya, but she goes eventually. In Japan, Jamian, Silver Saint of Crow, orders his trained crows to kidnap Saori. Seiya chases him through the mountains, but Saori is still being taken to the Sanctuary by Jamian's army of crows.

Seiya attacks the crows that were taking Saori and she falls on the abyss. On his attempt to grab her, Seiya ends up by breaking his arm, but manages to save Saori, but Shina and Jamian show up. Between the foes and the abyss, Seiya and Saori throw themselves into the abyss. In the morning, Saori wakes up and protects a badly injured Seiya from Shina and Jamian with her powerful cosmo, and Hyoga and Shun arrive. Jamian is hit by Andromeda's Nebula Chain and falls on the abyss, but Shina won't fall that easily. Eventually Hyoga manages to attack her with the Aurora Thunder attack, and she falls on the abyss as well. However, the battle is not over, as two Silver Saint show up and block their way.

Two new silver saints arrive to take Saori, they are Capella, Silver Saint of Auriga (he uses discs to attack) and Dante, Silver Saint of Cerberus(he uses a spiked ball and chain). Hyoga and Shun fight them, but are defeated and thrown into the abyss. Just as they aproach Saori and a wounded Seiya, Ikki shows up. Saori is glad Ikki is finally back, but Ikki explains he and he's there only to help. Ikki draws a line on the ground and states it is the borderline between life and death, should the silver saints cross it they'll die. Capella is angry and attacks, but is defeated with a single punch. Dante uses his ball and chain but Ikki easily blocks all threats, jumping to the other side and explaining that he has already crossed the borderline between life and death many times, so that means nothing for him. Dante attacks once again but Ikki dodges and beats him with an uppercut. Ikki picks up Seiya and proceeds to leave when Capella gets up and throws a disc towards him, beheading I

Seiya is having his injuries treated at the hospital, being watched by Saori, Shun and Hyoga. Meanwhile, Ikki arrives at the Death Queen Island, where he had received his training and the Phoenix cloth, in order to pay a visit to Esmeralda's grave. However, the island is now ruled by Jango, the new leader of the Black Saints. Ikki faces Jango and the Black Phoenix at the island and Seiya and the others are going there to help him. But the Pope has different plans for the Death Queen Island, and the Saints are in great danger!

Back in China, a blind Shiryu is suffering for not being able to do simple things like training or holding a cup of tea that ShunRei had prepared for him. When ShunRei takes him to the river, so she can swim in it, a strong current makes her start to drown, and Shiryu can do nothing. She is saved by a man who Shiryu knows very well: Oko, who trained with him in the childhood and had been expelled by Roshi because of his violent spirit. Now he's back to kill Shiryu and get the Dragon Cloth, but Shiryu's cosmo is so weak and opaque that Oko loses the will to fight and leaves. That destroyed Shiryu's pride, and now he's suffering even more, since he feels he's not worthy to fight along with Seiya anymore. Meanwhile, Seiya desperately looks for something that can heal Shiryu's eyes and eventually departs for Mu's Palace in Jamiel, believing that Mu might now a way to cure Shiryu.

Ohko reveals to Roshi his long-time resentment of Shiyru. Ohko attacks Roshi, but his strong, golden aura prevents him. Shiyru finally does decide to fight Ohko. Ohko, being the honorable man he is, uses a blindfold, to make him even with Shiyru. After a tough fight (and them falling down a waterfall), Shiyru defeats Ohko, and Ohko gives up on the Dragon Cloth. And Shiyru now believes that he deserves the Dragon Cloth and can fight with Seiya too.

Seiya manage to arrive safely in Jamiel, but finds Mu nowhere around. Even Kiki doesn’t know where he is. Kiki suddenly remembers Mu talking about the water of Life which flows from a spring at the summit of Jandara, a mountain nearby. Only the bravest of the brave are able to reach the summit. After countless hardships, Seiya manages to reach the spring.. When he returns with the Water, however, he finds Kiki being assaulted by the Silver Cloth Saint, Tarantula, Arakune. Without his Pegasus Cloth, Seiya is defenseless, but Steel Cloth Saint, Sky-Cloth, Sho arrives in the nick of time. Source: crunchyroll

While Saori Kido and the others are searching for the Gold Cloth Mask, Pope Arles is also desparately seeking the Gold Cloth. Both sides suspect that the other has stolen the Cloth. Arles summons Gold Saint Milo in order to send him after the Bronze Saints. He discloses to Milo that there are actually 12 Gold Cloths. 13 years before, Gold Saint Aiolos betrayed the Sanctuary and was put to death. His Gold Cloth was placed in the care of Saori’s grandfather. Two of the Gold Saints had helped Aiolos and then gone off to distant parts. Shina has to choose whether she’ll kill Seiya or love him. When she sees Aioria try to kill Seiya, she decides to love him. During the battle between Aioria and Seiya, she gets badly injured in order to protect Seiya, when 3 Silver Saints, Sirius, Dios and Argetti come. At the Five Peaks, Shiryu drinks the Water of Life, but it doesn't work. Roshi tells Shiryu about the existence of twelve gold clothes at the Sanctuary, and that the Pope has decided to send his Gold Saints to retrieve the Sagittarius Cloth and defeat the Bronze Saints. All of a sudden, the waterfall water arise and a man appears from inside the waters, walking towards Roshi. He's Death Mask, Gold Saint of Cancer, and came to assassinate the Roshi. Shiryu challenges him, but Death Mask can move at the speed of light. Soon, Shiryu is defeated and thrown into the waterfall. Death Mask then reveals that Roshi is actually one of the 12 gold saints, the Libra Saint. Here follows a discussion between Roshi and Death Mask about justice. The Cancer Saint attacks Roshi, but Shiryu jumps out of the water wearing his cloth and attacks Death Mask with his Rising Dragon attack. Death Mask feels the hit this time, and is furious. Through his Sekishiki attack, Death Mask tries to send Shiryu's

Everyone is ready to battle at Sanctuary, as Shun heads to the airport to meet the others. June interferes, claiming that he betrayed Santuary. Cancer, the Gold knight attacked Andromeda Island and captured their leader. June was there to capture Shun as a prisoner to free their leader, but Shun explained and indirectly defeated June. Eventually June believed Shun and warned him other Andromedan knights are seeking him but it was too late for Shun to escape. Two more knights appearred and locked Shun up.

Andromeda manages to defeat his foes, and finally the knights take off to the sanctuary. During the flight, Saori reveals that there are twelve gold knights, and that Ares might be one of them. Aioria arrives at Ares' throne room and unmasks the truth about his brother and Ares himself. A ferocious battle between them begins, but it's interrupted by another Gold Knight, Shaka of Virgo. Shaka challenges Aioria and they end up defeating each other. Saori and the Bronze Knights arrive at the sanctuary and are told by an unknown man about the twelve mansions, and that each of them are guarded by a Gold Knight. However, when they try to get to Aries mansion, the man shows his true identity and hit Saori with a gold arrow.

Seiya and the others are told by Trammy that they have to pass through the twelve mansions in twelve hours. Otherwise, Saori will die, and only the Pope can take the arrow out of her body. They rush to the first mansion and meet Mu, who actually is the Gold Saint of Aries. He recovers completely the Bronze Cloths and tells Seiya that they won't be able to defeat the Gold Saints unless they reach the essence of the cosmos, the Sevensenses. Aware of that, the Bronze Saints go to the second mansion, Taurus, where the Gold Saint Aldebaran is waiting for them.

Seiya challenges Aldebaran and tells the others to move on, but Aldebaran knock them out with one single strike. Using his lightspeed attacks, he throws Seiya through a lot of walls and buries him in the mansion's ground. However, Seiya remember about his training with Marin and goes back to fight, and realises that Aldebaran's technique is similar to Iaijutsu techniques (using a offensive-and-defensive posture). Burning his cosmo, Seiya manages to shoot a huge comet and finally hits Aldebaran. However, Aldebaran isn't defeated yet, and promises he'll surrender if Seiya manages to break one of his horns. Aldebaran's Great Horn hits Seiya a couple of times, but Seiya finally is able to see clearly through the lightspeed power of Taurus, which means he's reaching the Sevensenses! And, on the clock tower, the flame of Taurus is about to vanish...

Burning his cosmo to the limits, Seiya blocks Aldebaran's Great Horn and, surprisingly, repels the powerful attack towards the Gold Saint, who is thrown on the ground. When he manages to stand up, Seiya comes from above and, with a single strike, breaks the left horn of Aldebaran's helmet. Aldebaran admits his defeat, and allows Seiya to go ahead, but doesn't let the others to do the same. Then, Shiryu and the others join forces and freeze Aldebaran's arms, who allows them to move on. When they arrive at Gemini Temple, they find a confused Seiya at the entrance, and they decide to go together. Apparently, there is some weird force acting on Gemini Temple that prevents them to pass through it. When they leave, they're at the entrance again, but now there are two Gemini Temples. Splitting into two groups, they try to pass through Gemini Temple once again. But this time, Hyoga and Shun find someone on their way: The Gold Saint of Gemini!

Seiya and Shiryu find the Gemini Saint as well but, due to the fact that Shiryu is blind, he can't be fooled by Gemini's illusion and they manage to leave Gemini Temple. However, at the 'other' Temple, Hyoga and Shun are in trouble. Hyoga tries to hit Gemini with his attacks, but they're reflected against them by the Gold Saint. Hyoga falls unconscious and Shun is left alone to face Gemini Saint. At the Pope's throne room, we find the Pope meditating. Apparently, he's the one behind Gemini's illusion. In other words, the Pope is actually the Gold Saint of Gemini, and decides to kill Hyoga and Shun! Finally Gemini moves. Shun tries to stop him with his Chains, but the enemy can't feel a thing, and attacks them with Another Dimension attack, sendind Hyoga and Shun to another dimension. Hyoga is unconscious, so he can do nothing to escape, but Shun uses his chains to keep himself at this dimension, but the Gemini Saint is about to break them!

Gemini breaks the last chain that keeps Shun in this world, and he drifts away in the interdimensional portal. Suddenly, he's thrown back to Gemini Temple, but one thing is different: the Gold Saint has vanished, and the temple's exit is right before Shun's eyes. Someone has disturbed the Pope's concentration, and that one is Phoenix Ikki, who is recovering from the previous battles inside a volcano on the Canon Island. Shun refuses to leave without knowing about Hyoga's whereabouts, and the Gemini Saint appears again and sends Andromeda to another dimension. This time, however, Shun manages to reach the Sevensenses. His chains are totally recovered and he shoots the Triangle Chain through Gemini's helmet, making it cross another dimensional space and hit the Pope's face directly! The battle is over, and the Gemini Armor falls on the ground. Meanwhile, Hyoga wakes up in another temple when, all of a sudden, a Gold Saint arrives and ask if he's the Swan Saint. Who is this saint?

Hyoga meets Camus of Aquarius, master of his master. He also learns that he is now in Libra's Mansion, and Camus is there to try to stop him, in order to save Hyoga from a horrible death through another Gold Saint's hand. Hyoga challenges him, but his powers are no match for Camus, who eventually defeats Hyoga and locks his body inside an ice coffin.

Seiya and Shiryu arrive at Cancer's Mansion, and are terrified from human heads coming out of the walls and ceiling. Death Mask is waiting for them, and Shiryu tells Seiya to move on to the next mansion, for he wants to challenge Death Mask, but the power of Dragon proves itself totally useless against Death Mask. Then, Cancer sends Shiryu's soul to the entrance to the Underworld but Shiryu, aided by Athena's cosmo, is able to come back to his body. However, Death Mask attacks Shiryu again, and his soul is sent to the Hell's entrance, once more...

Shiryu finds himself again at the doors of the Underworld (Sekishiki), and suddenly realises that Shunrei is praying for him at the Five Old Peaks. Death Mask hears Shunrei's prayer too and, fearing that Shiryu could find his way back to the living world again, decides to go himself to Sekishiki and destroy Shiryu once and for all. Cancer beats Shiryu really hard and decides to throw him in the Yumotsu Hiraska (the hole where souls have to fall in order to reach the Underworld), but Shunrei's prayer disturbs him again. Then, Death Mask uses his cosmo to cast Shunrei in the waterfalls. Shiryu's cosmo is filled with rage and Death Mask is mercilessly attacked by an enraged Dragon!

Death Mask tells Shiryu that he won't be able to defeat a Gold Knight, and that none of his attacks will ever be effective. Cancer manages to push Shiryu into Yumotsu, but he's stopped by many zombies that once were the people who were killed by Death Mask. Unfortunately, they're no match for a Gold Knight. Suddenly, a strange phenomenon happens: Cancer Cloth leaves Death Mask's body, since a Gold Cloth can only be used by someone who fights for Justice. Shiryu takes his Cloth off too and challenges Death Mask and, reaching the Seven Senses, finishes Death Mask, throwing him into the Yumotsu. After going back to the living world, Shiryu hears from his master that Shunrei is alive and that he can see again. His eyes were cured when he reached the Seven Senses.

Aiolia, the Gold Saint of Leo, is not allowing Seiya to move on. When Seiya wonders why, Aiolia simply hits him with an attack at the speed of light. Meanwhile, Marin tries to sneak into the Sanctuary and save his pupil, but the Sanctuary guards find her. Eventually, Marin kills all of them, but then she faces a gigantic man, who locks her in his powerful arms. As a last resource, Marin throws herself (and the giant) in the abyss. Seiya feels Marin's cosmo as it fades and burn his cosmo to the limits. Aiolia shoots the Lightning Plasma again, but this time Seiya manages to see Aiolia's energy, avoiding it and finally hitting Aiolia with a flying kick.

Seiya manages to avoid the Lightning Bolt and hits Aiolia, who falls on the ground. However, Seiya's attack has pulled the trigger, and now Aiolia is really furious... and bloodthirsty. With his attack, he breaks Seiya's leg and begins to torture Seiya, wondering if he'll kill Seiya at once or let him suffer more. Meanwhile, Shina, who is recovering from the battle at Japan, wakes up and tries to go and help Seiya, but Cassios stops her, telling that Aiolia is being controlled by the Pope's most terrible attack: The Demon Fist, who transforms whoever is hit by it into a bloody murderer. The curse will last until Aiolia kills someone... Which means that Seiya is in great danger!!!

Seiya is about to die on Leo Temple. Cassios leaves Shina's hut and goes to the Twelve Temples. There, he stops and defeats Shiryu and Shun, preventing them from going into Aiolia's temple to save Seiya. However, Cassios goes there and tries to save Seiya, because he knows about Shina's love for Seiya. Aiolia mercilessly kills Cassios, provoking Seiya's anger. Seiya burns his cosmos, reaching the Sevensenses and defeats Aiolia with his Meteors. Since Cassios died, Aiolia is free from the Pope's Demon Fist manipulation, and swears that Cassios' death won't be in vain.

The battle at the Leo Temple is finally over. Aiolia heals Seiya's leg with his cosmo and tells the Bronze Saints what they will face on the sixth Temple: Virgo Shaka, the Saint whose power is the closest of God's. Meanwhile, at the Canon Island, some soldiers from the sanctuary are torturing the villagers, in order to find out where is Phoenix. Ikki shows up and defeats all the soldiers, but two enemies appear from nowhere. They are Peacock Shiva and Lotus Agora, both disciples of Shaka and ordered by him and the Pope to kill Ikki. The battle begins, but Phoenix's abilities are being blocked by the Virgo Saint's cosmo. Shiva and Agora attack Ikki at will, and he can't do nothing about it. Meanwhile, Seiya, Shiryu and Shun are running to the sixth Temple, and Shun wonders why he keeps hearing his brother's scream in his head...

Ikki struggles to keep himself alive, but Shiva and Agora are very powerful and Phoenix can't move a muscle against them because of Shaka. Athena tries desperately to find Ikki, but even her cosmo is unable to go through the powerful energy of the Virgo Saint. Eventually, she manages to cancel Shaka's influence over Ikki and he is free to attack his foes. Shiva and Agora tries to kill Ikki, even without their master's aid, but Ikki uses is full power and destroys them. Seiya and the others finally get to the entrance of the sixth temple, the Virgo Temple.

The Bronze Saints arrive at the Virgo Temple. There, they meet Shaka, the man whose power is the closest to God's power. Yet, he doesn't seem to notice the saints in front of him. Seiya tries to attack him, but Shaka hits him hard and Seiya goes to the ground. The same happens with Shiryu and Shun, and finally Shaka defeats all of them with his technique: TenMaKou Fuku (Devil Lord's Blessing). When Shaka is about to kill Shun, a Phoenix Feather cuts his hand. Phoenix Ikki has arrived. Since Ikki hurt Shaka's hand, the Gold Saint creates a river of blood, where Ikki will drown unless he gives up and becomes a follower of Shaka, but Ikki uses his flaming cosmo to vaporise the blood river. However, Ikki still can't attack Shaka, who paralises him the same way as before. Then, Shaka uses his Rikudo Rinne (Cycle of the Six Worlds) attack, sending Ikki's spirit to the nothingness.

It starts to rain. Ikki is lying dead on the floor, and Shaka tries to find out which world Ikki has chosen. All of a sudden, Ikki stands up and hits Shaka with his Phoenix's Ghost Attack, but it proves itself ineffective against the Gold Saint. Instead, Ikki sees the illusion. Shaka destroys the Phoenix's Cloth with his powerful cosmo and attacks Ikki with Rikudo Rinne again. Ikki can't evade it, and his body is burnt to ashes. However, he reappears again with his immortal cloth. Shaka uses his last resource: The TenbuHorin (The Treasure of the Heaven) attack. To use this attack, Shaka does what the saints most feared: he opened his eyes, unleashing his full power and destroying Ikki's cloth again, and the first sense of Ikki: the touch. Shaka explains that the TenbuHorin destroys the five senses of the opponent one by one, and so he does with Ikki, destroying the smell sense. Ikki then asks him if Shaka knows about the Pope's acts, and accuses him of being a saint who is not dign of

Ikki is on the verge of death, since he cannot move, speak, smell, see or hear. Shaka tries to kill him but Shun stops him. Shun challenges Shaka but Ikki stands up and telephatically tells Shun that Shaka is his opponent, not Shun's. Shaka attacks Ikki again, but surprisingly Ikki blocks Shaka's power with his cosmo. Seiya and Shiryu regain their consciousness. Shaka understands that Ikki's brain and heart are still 100% active, and that's why Ikki's still conscious and fighting, so he uses the TenbuHorin again to destroy Ikki's brain. Shun challenges Shaka again, but Ikki is not dead yet. He promised to Shun that he would defeat Shaka. Ikki reaches the seventh sense and his cosmo becomes a energy wave that breaks through the roof of Virgo temple and falls down directly over Shaka. Ikki disapperars, reappearing again behind Shaka. He tells Shaka that he allowed Shaka to destroys his five senses on purpose, in order to focus his energy (like Shaka did with his eyes closed). Ikki tells

Shina discovers that Cassios sacrificed himself to save Seiya and she blames herself for his death. She decides to take out her anger by attacking ArIes, but Aioria stops her from making this grave mistake. The bronze saints enter the house of Libra where they discover Cygnus buried in a large block of ice. They surmise that the only one capable of doing such a thing is the gold saint Aquarius. As they inspect Cygnus`s unique coffin a little closer, they sense his energy and are happy to learn that he is still alive. But they are unable to free him from his predicament; Aquarius`s ice-block is unbreakable even by the gold saints. But luckily, they find a way. Shiryu`s mentor, the gold saint of Libra, sends his gold armour to them. The gold armour of Libra is a special one in that it can change into 12 different weapons. The trick, however, is knowing which one to choose for the desired result you want. After testing each set of weapons, Shiryu chooses the sword; it is the correct choice. As Shun tries to revive Cygnus, by burning up his energy to keep him warm, he has a flashback of his days on Andromeda Island when he fought to become a saint. Seiya and Shiryu have made it to the house of Scorpio, guarded by the gold saint Milo, but once they enter, they sense that Shun`s energy is draining unusually fast. They realise that true to his Andromeda star, Shun is going to sacrifice his own life in order to save Cygnus`s life. As they attempt to go back and stop Shun, Milo steps out of the darkness and prevents them from leaving the house of Scorpio. After a hearty exchange of blows between the saints, Milo decides to use his powerful "Scarlet Needle" sting attack and flattens Seiya and Shiryu, but just as Milo moves in for the fatal blow, Cygnus strolls in ready for action. Cygnus enters the house of Scorpio carrying an exhausted Shun in his arms. Revitalised from his long rest, Cygnus managed to temporarily restrain Milo with his “Freezing Ring” attack, allowing Seiya and Shiryu to move on the next house. Milo breakes free of the freezing ring with ease and the two square off. Cyguns is strong and puts up a good fight, but Milo’s “Scarlet Needle” attack is unstoppable. Cygnus has been mortally wounded, but Miloguves him a choice ; either surrender, or face the 15 leveles of anbelievable pain the attack contains. Cygnus refuses to surrender, thus endures much pain. After each level sustained, Cygnus is biven an option to surrender ; he continues torefuse. Milo informs him that no one has ever passed level 6. In obvious pain, Cygnus has sustained up to level 15, but then a miracle happens. Cygnus seems to shake off the damage by summoning his inner enrgy and surprises Milo with his “Diamond Dust” attack, freezing Milo in his place. Meanwhile, down the hill, Tatsumi arrives to be at Saori’s (Athena’s) side as she lay with an arrow piercing her heart, but Arles soldiers have detdetected his presence and attack him. Tatsumi manages to fend off a few with his impressive kendo abilities, but there are too many of them and he is captured. The soldiers decide to kill Saori for their own pleasure, believing this will please the pope, but they are stopped in their tracks by the surprise arrival of Jab the Unicorn, Ban the Lionette, Ichi the Sea Snake, Geki the Bear and Nachi the Wolf. Milo again breaked out of Cygnus’s restrains, and Cygnus finds that Milo’s Scarlet needle attack is beginning to take effort.Cygnus becomes paralysed and begins to lose his senses one by one. Cygnus tries to mount an attack, but with limited strength, it is useless. Milo then asks Cygnus why he didn’t remain asleep in the block of ice, since Camus put him there for a reason : he is not able to let go of the memory of his mother thus cannot find his seventh-sense needed to defeat the gold saints. Milo takes pity on Cygnus and, out of respect for the gold saints Camus, agrees to let Cygnus live if he leaves the sancturary immediately. Cygnus refuges, claiming that he would rather die than disappoint his friend and Athena. Milo respects his with his wish and tries to destroy him, but with his back up against the wall and his senses leaving his body, Cygnus draws from the powerful energies of his friends and the goddess Athena to realise his seventh sense after all. He manages to deliver a powerful “ Aurora Thunder Attack” and freezes Milo’s gold armour rendering it useless. Milo recognaises that Cygnus has achieved his seventh sense and believes that maybe Saori is the real Athena after all. With only four remaining to save Athena, Tatsumi and the other bronze saints protecting her are beginning to worry about losing her. Tatsumi sent Saint Geki the bear to bring Athena’s sceptre to her side, and as it is placed in her hand, something magical happens. The gold saints’ armour of Sagittarius arrives in the sanctuary, reuniting all of the gold armour for the first time in thirteen years. All of the remaining gold saints come together as their armour begins to ring out like old friends greeting one another. Pope Arles is pleased that he has all of the gold saints’ armour in the Sanctuary, but he is worried that something might still go wrong, especially since the bronze saints have made it through the ninth house and are only two away from him. As qickly as the Sagittarius armour appeared, it just as quickly flew through the sky int the house of Sagittarius. Inside, Seiya and Shiryu are waiting.. Shun comes to, and Cygnus arrives, reuniting the four bronze saints together for the first time in a while. They all decide to enter the passageway to see where it leads. Once inside, the entrance disappears behind them and the ceiling begins to press down upon them like a vice. Shiryu yels for the others to run ahead to the tunnel while he tries to hold up the ceiling ; they reluctantly agree, although worry about their friend’s welfare. Up ahead, the three saints must evade a barrage of rocks flying at them, and then deal with a torrent that prevents them from moving onto the next passageway. Cygnus volunteers to take care of it, to allow Seiya and Shun advance. Next, the two saints come to a wide opening in the rock and they must use Shun’s chain to swing across, but the chain gives out and the two falls to the rocks below. But, then, the power of the sagittarius armour energises the four saints giving them extreme powers and the strength to emerge unscathed from their predicaments and unite again in the house of Sagittarius’s main chamber. With only a 3-hour window remaining to save Athena, the saints are feeling the pressure. They enter the tenth house, the house of Capricorn, and find it vacant. They pass through to the other side safely, but all of a sudden, the ground cracks creating a large gap in the earth. Seiya, Hyoga and Shun end up on the side away from the house (close to the eleventh house), but Shiryu is stuck on the side near the exit of the house of Capricorn. Then, Shura the gold saint of Capricorn emerges from the house and a fight with Shiryu ensues. Unable to help their friend by the distance between them, the saints realise they must move on to the eleventh house, as their need to save Athena is great. We discover that Shura is the most loyal of all the gold saints to Athena, and he is the one who killed Aioros those many years ago, because he thought Aioros was the one who tried to kill Athena when she was a baby, Shura punishes Shiryu and has him near deaths door, when suddenly, Shiryu is spirityally guided by his mentor in China. With his mentor’s help, Shiryu realises Shura’s weak link and he exposes it to his advantage. Source: crunchyroll

Shiryu manages to break Shura’s arm, but is badly wounded in the process. Just like at the beginning of our story, when Shiryu battled Seiya in the Galactian Wars Tournament, as Shiryu attacked Shura with his “Rising Dragon” Technique he left his heart unprotected for a split second, and this is all Shura needed to deliver his damaging blow. Realising that Shura must be defeated in order to save Athena, Shiryu uses his most powerful technique the “Ultimate Dragon”. Although this technique will kill any one it is used against, it will also ensure Shiryu’s own death. So, Shiryu chooses to sacrifice himself for the cause of saving Athena, and he defeats Shura of Capricorn. But is Shiryu really dead? Source: crunchyroll

Although upset, the remaining bronze saints realize they don’t have the time to grieve for their brave friend Shiryu, and they hurry off to the next house, the house of Aquarius. Inside, they encounter the gold saint of Aquarius, Camus. To prove his great mentor worng (for freezing him in the large block of ice, bexause he felt Cygnus could never achieve his seventh sense) Cygnus Hyoga wants to fight Camus alone. So, he tells Shun and Seiya to go on ahead to defeat Arles without him. Camus’s powers are great; he is far superior to Cygnus and easily defeats him. But respecting his prodigy, Camus again chooses to freeze Cygnus inside a large block of ice rather than killing him ruthlessly. This time, however, to Camus’s surprise Cygnus is able to summon his seventh sense power and break out of the ice coffin. A greater battle ensues and both saints destroyed one another, altering the number of fallen bronze saints to three. Source: crunchyroll

After Camus’s defeat, and with Seiya and Shun closing in, Arles is getting a little jumpy. And with only one-hour left to save Athena, Seiya and Shun must move fast. To save time, they agree to let Shun fight Aphrodite in the house of Pisces, while Seiya runs ahead to face Arles. Shun successfully holds Aphrodite at bay while Seiya runs through the house of Pisces, but once he reaches the path to Arles’s house, Seiya discovers it to be covered with Aphrodite’s magical roses. Seiya must step on the roses to advance to Arles’s house, but as he does, he falls unconscious succumbing to their mysterious powers. Shun cannot help his friend, instead he must listen to the Aphrodite’s sinister laughter as they prepare for battle. Source: crunchyroll

Aprodite informs Shun that Seiya will die at the stem of his poisonous “Demon Roses” which are planted to prevent any invadoers from hurting the pope. Once Seiya breathes in any of the pollen or touches any of the thorns, he will lose all of his senses and eventually die. During their battle, Aphrodite reveals to Shun that it was he who killed Shun’s mentor on Andromeda island. So, Shun has a double agenda for destroying Aphrodite: to avenge his mentor’s death and to get to Seiya in time to save him. After initially suffering at the attacks of Aprodite’s gold saint powers. Shun realises his seventh-sense power and begins to answer back with strong attack of his own. Shun uses his powerful “Thunder wave” attack and almost has Aprodite defeated, when all of a sudden, a large black rose appears out of nowhere and brings Shun’s attack to halt. Source: crunchyroll

Aphrodite attacks Shun with his “piranhian Rose” and destroys Shun’s chain attack with ease. Aphrodite punishes Shun with his gold saints’s powers, destroying his bronze armour and almost fatally wounding him. Realising he must act quickly, Shun summons all of his remaining energy and attacks Aphrodite with his “Nebular Stream” technique. This allows Shun to defeat Aprodite, but not before suffering the spell of Aphrodite’s “White Rose” attack. The white rose attacks Shun’s heart and sucks out all of the blood out of his body. Shun is the latest of the bronze saints to fall, but what about Seiya? Is he dead, or just sleeping? Arles believes that he has won; he believes the only threat to his rule was the bronze saints… but he was wrong! The battle in Sanctuary is about to end after making a lot of sacrifices. In spite of losing his precious friend Shun, Seiya has managed to go through the twelve houses and broken into the Pope’s room being helped by Marin. There he finds Pope regretting his sinful conducts with tears. Pope tells Seiya to head for Athena Shrine in order to save Athena but soon after that turns into the reincarnation of the evil. Gemini gets certain of his victory, beating Seiya and his 5 senses. At the same time, Mu of Aries helps Shaka of Virgo and Phoenix Ikki from another dimension. Shaka repaired Ikki’s Phoenix Cloth. On the other hand, losing 5senses, Seiya still continues to fight against the Gold Saint of Gemini, Saga. Suddenly, the Justice Face on the mask of Gold Cloth of Gemini sheds tears. Eventually, Athena Saori is revived. The light from the Athena’s Sheild reaches to her. The Gold Saint of Libra, the mentor of Dragon Shiryu tells the truth to the other Gold Saints what happened 13 years ago, and that Saori is the reincarnetion of Athena. Saori moves to the Athena’s Shrine from the foot of the Sanctuary through the 12 rooms of the Gold Saints, saving other Bronze Saints, Shiryu, Hyoga and Shun by the miracle power of Cosmo. In Athena’s Shrine, Seiya is about to death, beaten by Saga of Gemini, Seiya helped by Ikki. And other friends, Shiryu, Hyoga and Shun. In Asgard, a land filled with snow in Northern Europe, a woman known as Polaris Hilda, representative of the Norse God Odin, prays to preserve the peace in her land. Suddenly, a mysterious force speaks to her, urging her to destroy the Sanctuary. Hilda refuses, so she is swept away by the force. When she recovers, a strange ring is on her finger, and she calls upon the God Robes of the Asgard God Warriors. Seven warriors are granted these sacred Robes: Siegfried is granted the Dubhe God Robe Robe of the Alpha star, Hägen is granted the Merak God Robe of the Beta star, Thor is granted the Phecda God Robe of the Gamma star, Alberich is granted the Megrez God Robe of the Delta star, Fenrir is granted the Alioth God Robe of the Epsilon star, Syd is granted the Mizar God Robe of the Zeta star, and Mime is granted the Benetnasch God Robe of the Eta star. All seven God Warriors gather ready to serve Hilda. Syd is sent to the Sanctuary and defeats Taurus Aldebaran with one blow. Syd then arrives in Japan, and his target is Saori. He defeats Jabu, Nachi, Ban, Geki and Ichi easily. As Syd is about to attack Saori, Shun arrives with his new Andromeda Cloth and restrains Syd. Seiya arrives with his new Pegasus Cloth immediately afterwards, dealing a kick which takes Syd by surprise and sends him crashing to the ground. When Syd retaliates with his Viking Tiger Claw, Seiya and Shun realize that he is just as strong as the Gold Saints. Saori is confused because Hilda is a peaceful person and Syd reveals that Hilda will take over the Sanctuary. Shun is next to fight, but is distracted and defeated. In Asgard, Hyoga is escaping with a young girl named Freya, Hilda`s younger sister. Asgard soldiers trap Hyoga and try to convince Freya to come back to her sister, but she refuses, hoping that Athena will save her sister. Hyoga defeats the soldiers. Then, Saori appears before Hyoga and Freya. Seiya, Shun and Kiki arrive, and Freya explains that Hilda is not acting like herself. The worst part is, the world is now in danger. Hilda was praying to stop the Polar ice caps from melting, but since Hilda stopped praying, the ice caps are melting and will flood the Earth. Hilda and her God Warriors suddenly appear before them. Saori notices the ring on Hilda`s finger. The ring is known as the Nibelung Ring, which turns its wearer evil. The Bronze Saints set out to reach the Valhalla Palace and remove the ring from Hilda`s finger in order to bring Hilda back to normal. Saori decides to stop the Polar ice caps from melting, but with her power, she can only contain the caps for 12 hours, before the sun sets. Seiya, Hyoga and Shun rush to find the Valhalla Palace, which is farther away, but the giant God Warrior Thor stands in their way. Shun and Hyoga attack, but are useless against him as he easily breaks free from Hyoga`s ice and knocks down Shun with his Cosmo. Seiya decides to distract Thor, allowing Shun and Hyoga to move forward. Seiya stops Thor`s Mjolnir Hammer technique with his Meteor of Pegasus, but Thor simply changed their direction towards Shun and Hyoga, knocking them out cold. Seiya, now alone, manages to evade Thor`s Mjolnir Hammer, but before he is able to counterattack, Thor`s Titanic Hercules technique takes him out. Seiya is able to get up again and attacks with his Meteor of Pegasus, but Thor is able to block them and attacks again. As he lays in the snow, Seiya tries to figure out how to defeat Thor. Marin reminds him of the battle of the 12 Houses and how he was able to overcome the difficulties to save Athena. She says he has matured and has nothing left to teach him. Seiya remembers what he learned when he fought Taurus Aldebaran and Leo Aiolia, and how desperate he was to save Saori back then. He gets up, ready to fight once more. As Thor attacks again, Seiya tries to see the light speed attack and manages to stop it. He then sends Thor flying and crashing to the ground. Seiya then strikes with the Meteor of Pegasus and buries Thor in the snow. However, Thor gets up again, showing off a stronger Cosmo full of hatred. He explains how difficult life has been for the people of Asgard, and hopes that Hilda will lead the people to take control of the Sanctuary and the world. Thor strikes, with Seiya falling down an icy cliff, and even then, the attacks against Seiya continue. However, he is rescued by Shiryu, who has come from the Five Ancient Peaks of Lushan and brought information from Roshi. The master reveals that to remove the Nibelung Ring, one must have the legendary sword Balmung. To retrieve the sword, the seven Odin Sapphires, the seven God Warriors` guardian stones, must be gathered after defeating them. Shiryu goes to wake up Hyoga and Shun while Seiya distracts Thor, but Seiya is knocked down again. Saori`s Cosmos burns brightly and Seiya gets up to fight Thor. As the three Saints continue, Thor stands in their way, but Seiya comes back and executes a powerful Meteor of Pegasus which sends the giant crashing into a wall of ice. Saori`s Cosmos reminds Thor of when he first met Hilda. Thor used to hunt in the forests near the Valhalla Palace and gave the hunted prey to the poor people of Asgard. As he was hunted by the soldiers, Hilda arrived, apologized to Thor, since he was able to do something she couldn`t, and his wound was healed by Hilda`s gentle Cosmos. Since Hilda`s personality has completely changed, Thor has doubts about her intentions, but he ignores it and continues to fight. After Seiya is able to block Thor`s attack, both use their techniques again and clash, with Seiya earning the victory. Thor asks Seiya to restore Hilda to the way she was before, and falls to the ground, dead. Seiya picks up the first Odin Sapphire. While Saori tries to keep the polar caps from melting, Kiki and Freya stayed behind to look after her. The Bronze Saints head for different paths. While Shiryu looks for his next opponent, Capricorn Shura`s spirit reminds him to protect Athena. It is revealed that when Shiryu used his Final Dragon, Shura loaned his Gold Cloth to him and pushed him back to Earth, with his last words telling him to live on and to protect Athena. At the Valhalla Palace, Siegfried tells Hilda he is confident about his strategy to defeat the Bronze Saints. At a frozen waterfall, Shiryu is suddenly attacked by a pack of wolves, sent by the God Warrior, Alioth Fenrir of the Epsilon star. However, he defeats them with his Rising Dragon. Enraged, Fenrir goes to fight Shiryu, fully confident that he will win. After attacking Shiryu multiple times with his Wolf Cruelty Claw, Fenrir slashes Shiryu`s eyes, almost blinding him. Shiryu seems to be no match against Fenrir`s ruthless attacks. His friends sense he is in danger, but are confident they will make it to the Valhalla Palace. Meanwhile, Hyoga is followed by another God Warrior. Remembering Shura`s sacrifice, Shiryu gets up again, and tries to convince Fenrir that Hilda is possessed, needing the Odin Sapphire to save her and to trust him. Fenrir, however, doesn`t believe in people and only trusts his wolves. He then tells Shiryu the reason of his mistrust. Years ago, when Fenrir was six years old, he was part of a distinguished family. One day, he, his parents and their friends rode their horses through the woods. Suddenly, a huge bear slashed Fenrir`s mother, killing her. As his father tried fighting off the bear, their friends abandoned them and ran off. Fenrir`s father was also killed. Just then, a pack of wolves came to his rescue. From that day on, he was raised by those wolves and cared for them deeply. Later, Fenrir became the Alioth God Warrior and swore loyalty to Hilda. Shiryu is struck down again and almost eaten by the wolves, but Saori`s Cosmos weaken the wolves and revitalizes Shiryu. Shiryu fights back, stating that he believes in his friends and will fight for his beliefs as both warriors clash again. Fenrir keeps fighting for Hilda`s sake and backs Shiryu into a corner. The Rising Dragon is useless to Fenrir and Shiryu has seen through his techniques as well. Shiryu gets an idea and uses the Rising Dragon against the frozen waterfall, causing a massive avalanche, with both him and Fenrir caught up in it. The avalanche ends, and the wolves desperately look for Fenrir while Shiryu emerges from the debris. The wolves find Fenrir, but he has died, with the pack howling at the sky. Shiryu retrieves the Odin Sapphire, and hopes that Fenrir will be born again, with friends and more faith in humanity. As he walks away, the wolves attack Shiryu and they fall down into an ice cavern. The wolves die and Shiryu falls unconscious. Meanwhile, Hyoga encounters the God Warrior Merak Hägen, who is angry with him because he believes Freya was tricked by Hyoga. With his Diamond Dust useless against Hägen, Hyoga remembers his master Aquarius Camus` sacrifice for him to master the Absolute Zero and the Seventh Sense. Both warriors prepare to face off. Hägen unleashes the mighty technique Universe Freezing against Hyoga, but it is useless against him as he easily breaks free. Hyoga then tells Hägen that he let himself be captured by Asgard soldiers to discover what happened to Hilda. He was even severely beaten by Thor. But Freya came to Hyoga`s cell and freed him, hoping that Athena and her Saints would help save her sister and Asgard. Hägen refuses to listen and attacks Hyoga with vicious assaults. Hägen remembers being Freya`s closest friend during their childhood and one of Hilda`s most loyal warriors. Hyoga attacks with the Aurora Thunder Attack, but Hägen attack retaliates with Great Ardent Pressure, a fire technique which easily renders Hyoga`s attack useless. Hägen then goes into a cave. Hyoga follows, sensing a lot of heat and encounters a massive river of lava, the only warm place in Asgard. Hägen confronts Hyoga once more, but Since Hyoga was raised in Siberia, he is unable to handle the massive heat. Hyoga is confused as to why Hägen can withstand the heat. Hägen received his God Robe in that place and has trained there since childhood, mastering both ice and fire techniques. As Hyoga tried to see through Hägen`s technique, he is continuously overpowered and knocked down, but still manage to stand up and asks for the Odin Sapphire. Both attack each other again, but Hyoga falls unconscious. Just as Hägen is about to throw Hyoga into the lava, Freya arrives and tries to tell him about Hilda and the Nibelung Ring. However, Hägen still believes Freya is being manipulated. Hägen is about to attack, but Freya stands in his way, refusing to move. He reluctantly launches his technique, but Hyoga saves her in time. Hägen and Hyoga attack once again with Great Ardent Pressure and Aurora Execution, but Hyoga awakens the Seventh Sense and overpowers Hägen, killing him. After making a grave for Hägen, Hyoga has Kiki take care of Freya and heads for the Valhalla Palace. Hilda, angered that three of her God Warriors have died, is confident she can still win since most of the Bronze Saints are injured. After Seiya falls off a cliff, he remembers how the Gold Saints Aiolia, Milo, Aldebaran, Shaka and Mu gave up a portion of their blood in order to revive their five Bronze Cloths, which explains their new appearances. The Gold Saints made this sacrifice as a sign of gratitude to the Bronze Saints for rescuing Athena. Seiya climbs back up the cliff and reminds himself to not give up. Meanwhile, Shun remembers the victims at the Battle of the 12 Houses, wondering how long the needless sacrifices will continue. He then encounters the fourth God Warrior, Benetnasch Mime. Shun attacks with his Nebula Chain, but he cannot sense any threat from Mime, which leaves his chain useless to attack with. However, despite not showing any threat, Mime easily breaks through Shun`s defenses with an attack at the speed of light. Shun is then questioned by Mime, asking him why he fights, and makes him realize peace will never come, no matter how many opponents he defeats. Shun still struggles against Mime`s abilities and illusions. He then removes his Cloth and chains. While talking to Mime, Shun realizes he`s not fighting for Hilda and also dislikes fighting. Shun awakens the Seventh Sense and uses the Nebula Stream to immobilize Mime. Finally, he unleashes the Nebula Storm in order to defeat him. Unfortunately, Mime survives thanks to his harp. He then envelopes Shun with the strings on his harp, preparing for his final attack, Stringer Requiem. As Mime plays his music preparing to kill Shun, the chains still cannot sense any hatred. Ikki is able to miraculously dodge Mime`s lightspeed attack due to his battle against Saga, and also manages to see through his illusion technique. While Ikki is fighting, he senses something in Mime`s mind. Ikki tells Mime that he used to hate his destiny and it was because of his friendship with Seiya and the Saints that he found a reason for fighting. Even though Mime gains the upper hand, Ikki cannot sense any hatred within him either. Mime reveals his childhood past. He was trained by his father Folker, a mighty warrior of Asgard, respected by all, who forced him to train. One day, Mime found a locket with a picture of him as a baby and his real parents. Folker reveals that he killed them. When Asgard was at war with a neighboring country, he killed Mime`s father and mother, and took Mime to raise him as his own. As Mime mourns his family, Folker mocks him, causing Mime to kill him in one blow. Since then, he has deposited his hatred in his techniques. Ikki uses his Phoenix Illusion, allowing Mime to see his true memories, hidden long ago. When Folker died, he begged forgiveness for what happened. Folker actually let Mime`s father go, but he foolishly struck back. Folker counterattacked, but he accidentally killed both him and his mother. After making a grave for them, Folker raised Mime and cared for him. Even though Mime hated him for what happened, he still loved Folker as his father. Ikki tells Mime that he hates himself for killing his father and should make up for his crime by saving Asgard from Hilda`s wrath. Mime then remembers how Folker trained him, because he knew that he would be chosen as a God Warrior to protect Asgard. As Mime attacks, Ikki is able to counter, but both seem evenly matched. Suddenly, Mime uses his Stringer Requiem and Ikki is trapped while Mime plays his music, preparing to kill him. Shun tries to stop him, but Ikki tells him to pull back, saying he will defeat Mime. Ikki burns his Cosmos to the Seventh Sense and frees himself, destroying his Cloth in the process. He is able to strike Mime and knock him down with his Rising Phoenix, destroying his harp. Ikki tells him that he believes in a future where he and his friends will live in peace and is willing to fight for it. Mime, willing to believe in what Ikki said, removes his God Robe and faces Ikki one last time, to see if what he said is true. Both warriors strike each other, with Mime losing his life, but not before telling Ikki that is he were to be reborn, he would want to be friends with Ikki in a peaceful world. As he dies, Mime apologizes to his father, and entrusts Ikki and Shun with Asgard`s future. Shun retrieves the Odin Sapphire and Ikki tells him to keep going, while he falls unconscious, exhausted from the battle. At the Valhalla Palace, as Siegfried and Syd sense Mime`s Cosmos disappearing, Megrez Alberich mocks their loyalty to Hilda and swears to destroy the Saints using his intelligence. Alberich leaves to defeat the Saints. As the Saints get closer to the Valhalla Palace, Shiryu finally recovers from the fall. Alberich has always hated Hilda for not appreciating his intelligence, and he secretly plans to recover the Odin Sapphires for himself. Just then, a Saint attacks him and tries to escape. The Saint is revealed to be Eagle Marin. Alberich reveals to Marin that they are in the area of his "collection" of victims, skeletal warriors trapped in an amethyst casing. Marin knocks down Alberich, but he cheats by spraying acid in her face. Seiya senses that Marin is in danger and rushes to her aid. Marin attacks with her Eagle Toe Flash twice, but it is useless. Alberich unleashes his technique Amethyst Shield, encasing Marin in an amethyst coffin. Seiya finally finds Alberich and attacks him. As he tries to trick Seiya, Alberich is knocked down again by Seiya`s Meteor of Pegasus and the Pegasus Rolling Crash. Seiya then sees Marin trapped, and Alberich reveals her lifeforce will be absorbed by the amethyst until she is nothing but bones. Alberich says if he dies, Marin will never be freed, but will save her if Seiya hands over Thor`s Odin Sapphire. However, Marin tells Seiya to forget about her and defeat Alberich. Seiya remembers how Marin was a good influence on him, but he knows he has to save Athena and Asgard, so he decides to defeat Alberich. However, Alberich reveals his Sword of Flame, which came with his Megrez God Robe and tries to slash Seiya with it, while at the same time, tricking Seiya about Marin. Alberich is willing to win no matter what it takes. Although Seiya barely manages to disarm Alberich, he is caught in the Amethyst Shield. Alberich then recover Thor`s Odin Sapphire. Hyoga senses Seiya`s Cosmo disappearing and rushes to find him. It is revealed that Alberich was there when Hilda was possessed by the Nibelung Ring and chose to keep it quiet. He plans to gather all seven Odin Sapphires, obtain the Balmung sword and kill Hilda in order to rule over Asgard and the world. Hyoga finds Seiya and Marin trapped in the Amethyst Shields. He then tries to convince Alberich to hand over the Odin Sapphires. Since it doesn`t work, Hyoga has no choice but to fight. However, Alberich gains the upper hand and is about to slice Hyoga. Hyoga saves himself and strikes with all of his techniques, but they seem to be ineffective against Alberich. Meanwhile, Shiryu is able to climb up the ice cavern and return to the battlefield, thanks to his master`s advice. Alberich leads Hyoga deeper into the forest where he unveils a secret technique handed down from his ancestors, Nature Unity, where the spirits of the forest come alive and attack the enemy. Shiryu senses Hyoga is in danger and tries to find him. As Hyoga struggles to get up and fight, Alberich uses the Amethyst Shield, but is saved by Shiryu in the nick of time. Exhausted, Hyoga falls unconscious. Alberich reveals that his ancestor had fought Shiryu`s master while he was still young. Just then, Roshi remembers that about 200 years ago, he fought against Alberich`s ancestor and was able to see through the Nature Unity by becoming one with nature. In the end, Roshi was the victor. As Shiryu struggles with the Nature Unity, Roshi speaks to him, telling him to remain motionless and become one with nature. The spirits then release Shiryu. Unfortunately, since Shiryu starts moving again after being provoked by Alberich, the spirits attack him again, so he becomes one with nature again. However, Alberich does whatever he can to distract Shiryu`s concentration. Alberich remembers that his family was left with the task of protecting the Odin representative on Earth, but since Hilda uncovered the God Robes, the Odin Sapphires were uncovered as well. He then reveals to Shiryu his plan for world domination. Angry that Alberich is willing to betray his comrades, Shiryu swears to save Hilda, Athena and Asgard. As he struggles against Alberich, Shiryu decides to remove his Cloth and shield in order to counterattack, since he has seen through the Amethyst Shield long ago. Risking his life, Shiryu kills Alberich with his Rising Dragon. Due to Alberich`s death, the Amethyst Shields disintegrate, freeing Marin and Seiya. Shiryu and Marin, while trying to recover their strength, have Seiya and Hyoga continue to the Valhalla Palace, with four Odin Sapphires in hand. Before Seiya leaves however, Marin warns him to be careful when facing Syd. Hilda is very confident is Syd`s victory, and while Shun enters the palace, Syd appears before him, remembering their last encounter. Seiya and Hyoga arrive, but just as Seiya challenges Syd again, Shun has him and Hyoga go forward while he fights the God Warrior by himself, promising to catch up later. While both of them run past Syd, a mysterious figure sees them. Shun attacks with his Nebula Chain, but is useless against Syd`s cold air. Outside, Shaina arrives and finds Marin. She then tells Shaina about how Aldebaran was defeated. He survived, but revealed to Marin what happened in the battle. Aldebaran and Syd were evenly matched, but he felt a powerful attack from behind, which defeated him. Marin went to Asgard to warn Seiya, but encountered Kiki and Freya. Freya revealed that the Mizar God Warrior has a deadly shadow, because Zeta has twin stars, Mizar and Alcor. She then sends Shaina to find Seiya and warn him about Syd. Shun does his best to strike back, since the Gold Saints revived his Cloth and chains. As Seiya and Hyoga go farther into the palace to find Hilda, someone blocks their past and they are taken down by a strong current of cold air. As Shun gets up, Syd reveals Seiya and Hyoga will die soon due to the cold air in the palace. Shun struggles to defeat Syd in order to rescue his friends, but his chains are ineffective. Syd unleashes his ultimate technique, Blue Impulse, against Shun, tossing him in the air and crashing to the ground. Meanwhile, Shaina is on her way to the Valhalla Palace. As Shun is out cold, Ikki speaks to him, urging him not to abandon his friends or Athena and reminding him of when he unleashed his true power in the Battle of the 12 Houses. Shun also remembers the Gold Saints` sacrifice and removes his Cloth and chains to unleash the Nebula Stream. The stream opens up a hole in the roof, letting all the cold air out. Syd attacks with his Blue Impulse, but Shun awakens his Seventh Sense and counters with the Nebula Storm, killing Syd. However, while Shun attacked, someone tried to attack him, and Shaina took the blow instead. Shun retrieves the Odin Sapphire and Shaina tells him to go. The mysterious man emerges from the shadows, stopping Shun. The man who attacked Shun is revealed to be the God Warrior, Alcor Bud, Syd`s shadow. He also revealed that he was the one who defeated Taurus Aldebaran and attacked him from behind. Bud demands Syd and Mime`s Odin Sapphires, so Shaina stands up to face him. Siegfried is surprised about Syd`s shadow, but Hilda knew this whole time. Shaina is no match for Bud and is quickly defeated. Ikki arrives after his battle with Mime, determined not to abandon his brother. Bud, angered at the fraternal bond between Shun and Ikki, begins to attack, saying that compassion is useless. Ikki miraculously blocks Bud`s lightspeed attack before they clash, whereupon Bud`s helmet is knocked off, and his face is exactly like Syd`s. Bud reveals that Syd is his younger twin brother. Ikki confronts him about not helping his brother, and Bud responds that if Syd dies, he will become the true God Warrior of Zeta, and no longer be a shadow. Ikki attacks, but Bud easily avoids his technique, because he was observing his battle with Mime. Ikki goes down and Bud keeps attacking him, while Shun struggles to help his brother. While fighting, Bud reveals that on the day he and Syd were born, his parents had to pick one to keep, because in Asgard, twins were hated. It was believed that twins would destroy a family. Syd and Bud`s father reluctantly abandoned the infant Bud in a forest, where a villager found him and raised him, while Syd was lucky enough to stay with his family. Years later, while hunting, Bud encountered his brother Syd without realizing it, until he noticed that they both had the same family daggers. As Syd left with his family, Bud put it all together and realized who Syd was. Enraged, Bud decided he would be superior to Syd. Later on, he was chosen as a God Warrior, but was still Syd`s shadow. It seems Ikki is no match for Bud. Shun and Ikki try to attack together, but are both knocked down by Bud. Ikki then uses his Phoenix Illusion against Bud. In his mind, Bud defeats Syd, but for some reason, he can`t give him the death blow. Ikki confronts Bud about trying to help out Syd during his battle with Shun, even though he claimed he wanted Syd dead. Ikki and Bud clash again, with Ikki coming out on top after awakening his Seventh Sense. Suddenly, Syd sneaks up on Ikki and holds him so that Bud can defeat him. Even though Bud is concerned, Syd tells him he`s dying anyway so he doesn`t need to worry. Ikki asks Syd if he knew about his brother all along. Syd confirms this by saying that him and their parents never stopped caring about him. Syd was also willing for his brother to be a God Warrior. Ikki tells Bud that he will not stop Bud`s attack, but something holds him back. Syd dies at that very moment, and Bud realizes what was holding him back, was the love he had for his brother. Ikki explains that even though brothers can sometimes hate or kill one other, they never forget when they cared about each other. Bud leaves, with Syd in his arms, believing in the world Ikki fights for, a world where brothers who are separated, can reunite and live happily. Earlier, Hyoga used all of his power to make a path for Seiya to continue. Seiya gets up and Hyoga tells him to keep going. Shun and Ikki move forward, to fight the last God Warrior. Kiki tries to stop Freya from going to Saori`s side, who is getting weaker by the minute. She realizes that even though Siegfried is the last God Warrior, Siegfried is reincarnated from a warrior with the same name, who became immortal after defeating a dragon and bathing in its blood. Shun and Ikki take Hyoga with them further into the palace. Seiya reaches the Odin statue, but Dubhe Siegfried stands in his way, not willing to show any mercy. Siegfried easily dodges Seiya`s attacks and defeats him with his Odin Sword technique. Hyoga, Shun and Ikki arrive while Kiki and Freya watch Saori getting weaker by the minute. Meanwhile, in the forest, Shiryu gets up to join his friends. Ikki faces Siegfried by himself, but is no match for him. Hyoga and Shun are also defeated. Siegfried mourns his friend Hägen and remembers that he must always protect Hilda and Asgard. Seiya gets up, ready to fight the God Warrior again. Siegfried starts to have doubts about why he`s fighting due to Seiya telling him about Hilda being possessed. Shiryu faces Siegfried on his own, despite not wearing his Dragon Cloth. No matter what technique Shiryu uses, Siegfried is unscathed, making him wonder if he`s really immortal, just like the legend. Back at the caps, Saori can`t hold on anymore. Shiryu is struck by the Odin Sword technique and thinks about using the Final Dragon, like he did on Shura. He holds on to Siegfried and prepares the forbidden technique. Just then, Shura`s spirit talks to Shiryu and tells him not to do it, otherwise not only will he not protect Athena, the Odin Sapphire would be destroyed as well. Siegfried gets loose and uses the Dragon Bravest Blizzard on Shiryu. He then remembers Roshi`s lesson on a double-edge technique, and its weak point, which can not only hurt the opponent, but hurt the one who uses it. Shiryu tells Seiya to watch carefully and he burns his Cosmo to strike Siegfried at his weak point, his heart, just like Shiryu`s weak point when Seiya first fought him. Siegfried from the legend also had the same weak point. After killing the dragon, Siegfried became immortal after bathing in its blood. However, a leaf fell on his back, just behind his heart. Later that day, he was hit on that spot by a spear, thrown by someone jealous of him. He died due to his weak point. Shiryu accomplished what he needed to do in order to show Seiya Siegfried`s weak point, and faints. Seiya gets up for his friends to fight once more. Hilda waits by her throne, and is visited by someone working for the being who gave her the Nibelung Ring. Seiya has to strike Siegfried`s heart at a 100,000th of a second in order to win. Both warriors use their techniques, but Seiya is overpowered and falls to the ground, yet he was able to land several hits on Siegfried`s heart. Saori, Shiryu and his friends deposit their Cosmo into Seiya, making Siegfried doubt is Hilda is right, or if Athena is true justice. Hilda suddenly arrives and attempts to finish off Seiya, but Siegfried stops her to confirm his doubts. They attack again, with Seiya`s Meteors pushing back Siegfried`s Dragon Bravest Blizzard and attacking his heart. Seiya has finally won and goes to retrieve the Sapphire. But a man, playing a flute arrives and introduces himself as a Mariner General serving the God of the Sea Poseidon, Siren Sorrento. He has come from the Sanctuary of the Sea, under Poseidon`s orders to take Hilda with him. Sorrento reveals that Poseidon took control of Hilda with the Nibelung Ring, in order to control the world ruled by Athena and kill her. Seiya tries to stop Sorrento, but his music is affecting his mind, leaving him vulnerable for an attack. Siegfried, now realizing the truth and Seiya being right, he hands over the final Odin Sapphire to him. He then goes to fight Sorrento, using the last of his strength. Sorrento plays his flute, with his Dead End Symphony, which is similar to the Siren of Greek Mythology that lures sailors with its music to devour them. Siegfried covers his ears and destroys his eardrums to stop hearing the music, but its useless since it goes directly to the brain. Even though Siegfried is attacked, he still goes to fight Sorrento and holds onto him. Using his last bit of strength, Siegfried takes Sorrento, rising to the sky, sacrificing himself to kill the General. He entrusts Asgard and Hilda to Seiya, who swears his death will not be in vain. With her evil power, Hilda tries to kill Seiya. Shiryu, Hyoga, Shun and Ikki struggle to help their friend. Saori`s Cosmos won`t last much longer. Seiya fights back, but can`t kill Hilda, otherwise Asgard and the world would be lost. Hilda attacks and Seiya falls down a cliff. As Seiya is about to give up, Saga`s spirit calls out to him, reminding him of their battle and how he awakened the Seventh Sense to defeat him and save Athena. Saga also reminds Seiya that he will win as long as he has hope, entrusting him with Athena. Seiya climbs back up and heads for Odin`s statue. Hilda attacks again, but Hyoga and the others use themselves as shields to protect Seiya. With his friends defeated, Seiya reaches the statue, but doesn`t receive a response. Hilda attacks Seiya again, believing she has won. The Odin Sapphires suddenly rise up and place themselves on Odin`s crown. Seiya is miraculously saved and the legendary Odin Robe appears, complete with the legendary sword Balmung. The Pegasus Cloth comes off his body to make room for the Odin Robe. Hilda attacks with the Nibelung Ring, but as Seiya is about to deal the death blow, he stops. She is innocent and under Poseidon`s control, so he can`t kill her. Hilda takes the opportunity to attack and Seiya is down. Odin suddenly speaks to Seiya through his Cosmos and tells him to move forward and protect Asgard. Seiya is victorious and the Nibelung Ring is finally destroyed. The Odin Robe removes itself from Seiya`s body, completing its mission. However, Hilda is down, and bleeding. Seiya fears he has killed her, and Saori is down as well, exhausted from using all of her Cosmo. Asgard begins to crumble and the flood seems imminent. As the flood continues, the corpses of the God Warriors (including Bud, who succumbed to his wounds) are shown. Seiya`s friends regain consciousness and so does Hilda. She then takes the Balmung sword and prays for everything to be returned to normal, while Seiya, Shaina, Marin and their friends head towards Athena. Freya is able to feel her sister`s Cosmos as she prays. Hilda begs forgiveness, as she was able to see how Athena and her Saints suffered and how her God Warriors died while under Poseidon`s control and couldn`t do anything to stop it. The flooding stops and Saori`s Cosmo returns to her, waking up, much to everyone`s relief. Hilda comes down to apologize to everyone and reunites with her sister Freya. Saori asks her to be strong and learn from her mistakes in order to protect Asgard. Things seem to be back to normal, but a tidal wave hits everyone. When they wake up, they see Saori is missing. There is pouring rain and floods in all parts of the globe. Tatsumi, Jabu and the other Saints are aware of the panic around the world and wonder what is happening. In Asgard, Seiya and Shun return to Hilda and Freya, with no trace of Saori`s whereabouts, but they do believe Poseidon has taken her to the underwater Sanctuary. Saori awakens and encounters Poseidon, but she recognises him as Julian Solo. She first met him during his 16th birthday party. Julian Solo`s family is one of the wealthiest sea merchants in the world and he is the heir. When he met Saori, he proposed marriage to her, but she respectfully declined. Julian was chosen as Poseidon`s reincarnation and vessel. Poseidon tells her that the rain will continue for 30 days, and the water will remain for 150 days, killing all of humanity, but spared Saori, since he is still in love with her. He offer Saori the chance to rule beside him, but once again she rejects him. Saori is willing to sacrifice herself, and hopes her Saints will arrive to crush Poseidon`s ambition. Back in Asgard, Hilda and Freya discover ancient texts that reveal a path to Poseidon`s Sanctuary. The path is a giant whirlpool, and Seiya and Shun are sucked in. They arrive at the underwater Sanctuary, and there`s no water since the water is held up above them. Suddenly, Mermaid Thetis, a Mariner working for Poseidon appears. Seiya and Shun chase after her, trying to see if she knows where Saori is. Thetis tries to trap them using her Coral Trap to encase them in coral, but Seiya destroys it.
